Shamrocks (continued from front page) There is no doubt this didn't effect the outcome of the game, but was a very bad happening and not worth the smiles and laughs it got from the bench. The second quarter started just as the first went most of the way, with a dominating streak by the Shamrocks really pushing them out in front. Griffey got a rebound basket and after Kris Tuttle hit his first basket of the night from eight foot. Davis made a lay-in on which he drew a foul and completed the three point play. Griffey then took a nice feed from Davis for another lay-in, shortly followed by a Gouker to Griffey pass for two more points as the Shamrocks were releasing Griffey a little early on occasions and the very laxed effort of the Falcons to get back on defense made many opportunities for advantages and easy baskets. However. Davis was taken out of the game after committing his second personal foul and also to get a well-deserved rest, and things changed considerably. Griffey's last basket came w'ith 5:36 left in the half and pushed the Green and White to a 27-12 lead. However, the remainder of the half only Ron Price was able to score for the Shamrocks and the Falcons started the long climb back to get back in the game. Tuttle got a lay-in and Ochs followed with two free throws. Tom Moore hit from seven foot and the lead was nine before Price got his first on a dump-off pass for a very short baseline lay-in. He matched this the next time down the floor, but this came with 4:06 left and only two more points were to go on the board for the Shamrocks in the first half. Tom Moore hit again on a lay-in and Ochs got a rebound and put it back up and in from the side of the basket. Price took a Griffey pass for another easy one coming to the basket from the side as 2:20 remained. Muncie flipped a reverse shot back up and in off a rebound and Ochs and Steve Hardesty each
TWO ENERGY SAVERS
You and Your New Gas Range By having a new gas range in your kitchen (and using it properly) you can cut down your use of gas for cooking... and save money. You can reduce gas consumption 30 per cent on a modern pilotless gas range. Over the lifetime of the range, the energy savings payback could amount to a large part of the original price of the range. Its something to think about!
Gas Saving Tips Use smallest possible flame to do the job. Cook with lids on pans when possible. Oven “peeking” wastes gas—keep door closed. Pre-heat oven only amount needed. Check recipe.

hit one of two from the charity stripe. Ochs then swiped an errant pass tt nd moved for another lay-in with 40 seconds left to trim the lead t to 33-28. Despite having the ball i again, the Falcons couldn't trim the i lead any more and it remained this i way through the halftime. Davis returned to the lineup after t the big intermission and once again proved to be the dominating force. ■ Tom Moore scored first, a 15 foot t jumper, but Davis tickled the twine I from the right corner and then took > a Vanderhagen pass for a nice comI bined lay-in effort. Ochs scored i from under but Davis again was true, this time from in close on the baseline. Tuttle and Griffey traded short baskets but Gouker drove ■ hard on the front end of a fastbreak for a lay-in and was fouled and he got the third point. Davis then put . another Griffey assist up and in to again open a safe lead of 12 points. Greg Gratner hit a rebound shot from Glenn but Griffey from under meant two more points. Gratner then flipped in a 12 footer but this ; time it was Davis from under, same results, two points. John Summers ; followed with a lay-in off a Gouker . assist but in the final minute Tom i Moore flipped in a little underi handed shovel shot and Muncie found net from eight foot to make it 52-42 heading into the do or die last quarter. At first it looked like it might be “do" for the Falcons. Muncie hit from 16 foot and Hardesty got a nice short shot off the glass and in. The scoring pace slowed down a bit briefly for the Falcons as the Shamrocks answered with two baskets by Summers to again open up a ten point lead. Muncie and Tuttle had short shots find the range but Davis once again pounded through the middle for a lay-in. Tom Moore hit one of two from the line and the big break that really got Falcons fans excited was Tuttle’s rebound basket off the second missed shot. This trimmed the lead to five, but the “die" cast was there and the Shamrocks took complete charge of the game from here on out. Davis hit again as he was really getting the big baskets for North
Liberty. Ochs hit one of two free throws, but Price got a lay-in, Martin one of two from the line and the lead was again nine. Tom Moore and Martin traded lay-ins and after Tuttle hit from the side. Price got another one from under. A missed Falcons shot led to ball control by Gouker and his teammates and the fouls started coming that just added to the Shamrock lead. Vanderhagen hit one of two on Tom Moore’s fifth personal and Davis converted a technical shot called on Moore for words with the ref. Vanderhagen then hit two more and also got a basket on which he charged, giving Ochs two free throws with :53 showing. The bench was completly cleaned by coach Glen Keel but neither team scored in the remaining time and thankfully, no one lost their temper any further and committed stupid fouls. The final was 73-60. Davit Hits 24 Point* Davis led ail the scorers as he totaled 24 points in this game on 11 baskets and two free throws. He had 16 point assistance from Griffey as these two were the two mam cogs in the fast break game the Shamrocks had so much success with. Price added 10 coming off the bench. Glenn had four boys in double figures with Ochs tops at 16 points. Tom Moore added 13 and Muncie and Tuttle each had 12. Shamrock B-Team Win* The North Liberty B-Team almost completely shut the door on the Falcons in the second half to turn a tight bailgame into a 41-22 runaway victory.
