His father. Len Northam. Grissom Drive. Walkerton, while shopping in Walkerton one afternoon before Christmas, saw a model of a space ship from a popular TV series, it looked sharp but still only a model. His father decided to build one for his son for Christmas that he could climb into, work the lazer guns and have the sound effects. When Mr. Northam had 400 hours in the project including three week ends his brother Ron spent helping him with the sheet metal work, he started to realize it was a much bigger project than he had first thought it would be. His enployer. Neil Downey, of Walkerton, let him build the “Viper”, as Brandon calls it. in his shop and

All the time and effort seemed well worth it when Christmas morning arrived and Brandon climbed into his space ship and looked at his dad and said. “Dad you can build anything! Wow!!!” OBITUARIES EARL WAYNE LESLIE Funeral services for Earl Wayne Leslie. 94. were held on Wednesday, December 27, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. John's Methodist Church. Georgetown. Texas, with Rev. Lynn Tusha officiating. Burial was in Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, near Burnet. Texas. Mr. Leslie died on Monday . December 25. in the Wesleyan Nursing Home. He was born on March 22. 1884. in Claypool. Indiana. On June 23. 1907. he married Edna Mae Ritter. He was a member of the Walkerton Masonic Lodge No. 619 F. & A.M. and the St. John’s Methodist Church. Georgetown, Texas. Surviving are his wife, of Georgetown. Texas, Mrs. Edna Mae Leslie; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. C. R. Leslie, of Georgetown. Texas; and one granddaughter. Norma Johnson, of Grand Coulee, Washington. HAZEL V. HEYDE Hazel V. Heyde. 69, of 2301 Santa Rosa. Avon Park. Florida, died on December 24 at her residence. She had been a winter guest of the Avon Park area for the past 12 years, coming from Huntington, Indiana. She was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are her husband. Alvin G. Heyde; a daughter. Jo Ann Grcssley, of Huntington; three sons. Carl Heyde. of Huntington. Dallas Heyde, of Warren, and Larrv Heyde, of Huntington; 12 grandchildren; one great-grand-child; two brothers. Charles Sheneman. of South Bend, and C laude Sheneman. of North Liberty; and two sisters, Mary Mcßride, of lakes tile. and Blanche Swihart. of Avon Park. Florida. Services were at the Deal and Robins Funeral Home. Huntington. with internment at Mt. Hope ( emeterv. ELSIE L. SMITH Mrs Flsie Leona (Eldridge) Fortune Smith. 82, formerly of 402 Washington Street. Walkerton, died at 2 40 pm. on December 28, at Parkview Convalescent Center, Pudacah, Kentucky, after an ex
tended illness. She was born on March 20, 1896. in Bristol, to Charles and Cora Teesdale Eldrige and had lived in the Walkerton area since 1942. coming from Paw Paw, Michigan. She was a member of the South Bend Church of Christ and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Lawton, Michigan. Mrs. Smith was married first to Benny Fortune, who preceded her in death. She married Everett N. Smith on April 11. 1942, in South Bend, who preceded her in death on June 9. 1953. One daughter, Irene Sokol, also preceded her in death. Surviving are a son. Manley B. Fortune. Paducah. Kentucky; five grandchildren; two great grand children; ami two brothers. Stanley Eldrige. Nottawa. Michigan, and Manley Eldrige. Sturgis, Michigan. Services were held at 10:00 a m. on lucsdav. January 2. at the Nusbaum Flkin Funeral Home, Walkerton. with Rev. Cecil Belcher, pastor of the South Bend Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Law ton. Michigan. MRS. ETHEL V. WENNER Services were at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. December 30. for Mrs. Ethel V. Wenner. 86. route 1. Walkerton, who passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday. December 28, at Memorial Hospital. South Bend, after a six month illness. Rev. Paul Mcßride, pastor of the First Brethren Church. Wakarusa, officiated at the services held in the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home. Walkerton. Burial was in the Polk low nship Cemetery, west of LaPaz on U. 5.6 She was born on December 4. 1892. in lowa and she lived at Walkerton most of her life coming from lowa. Her parents were William and Mary McLoskey. She married Mortie E. Wenner, on February 21. 1915. in Plymouth, who preceded her in death on May 18. 1939. She was a member of the Teegarden United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the church; the Polk Township Home Economics Club; Pine Creek Ladies Aid and the American War Mothers. Surviving are two sons. Woodrow and Calvin Wenner, both of Route I. Walkerton; two grand children; four great-grandchildren; and a half brother. Cecil Lowe, Huxley. Texas. She was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters.

No Need To Stand In Line At License Bureau There is no need to stand in line to buy your 19^9 license plates. Ihe Bureau of Motor Vehicles would like to suggest that Indiana citizens purchase their plates by mail. Approximately four million preprinted registrations have been mailed during the last two months. Bv using the pre printed form, Indiana residents may obtain their |9”9 license plates bv mail. Io acquire a plate by mail, an individual must: I Verifv the information on the registration form If the name, address, or s<xial security number is incorrect, make the correction on the registration form. 2. Be certain the registration is for the vehicle vou currcnth own. Individuals who have traded cars during the past year may receive a pre-print for both the vehicle that has been sold and for the new vehicle. If this should happen *oyou, please discard the obsolete form, only, and follow the standard procedure. A trip to the license branch is only necessary when the vehicle description found on the pre-printed form does not match \our current vehicle. 3. Make out a check or money order payable to the “Bureau of Motor Vehicles" for the exact amount indicated by the arrow on the pre-print form. Never send cash! 4. Sign the preprint on the far left-hand side, place all copies of the form and the check or monev order in the envelope. Be sure the branch address is visible through the envelope window . 5. Place a first.class stamp on the envelope, and include the return address on the space provided. All pre-print must be mailed on, or before, the fifth day of your registration month to assure delivcry before the 1978 plate expires. Please allow at least three weeks before you receive your plate. If your pre-print form is not received in the mail by January 15, please contact the Bureau of Motor \ chicles.
