QUICK TASTIES AND HOT BUTTERED RUM For The Tasties: 1 6 oz. pkg butterscotch bits 2 pkgs, chocolate bits 1 cup halved cashew nuts 1 cup Chinese noodles Melt the chocolate and butterscotch bits in double boiler, stirring well. Add nuts and noodles and mix well. Drop on chilled cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Drop by teaspoon to desired size. To keep cookie sheet chilled until candy is set well, put ice cubes on one sheet and place candy sheet atop ice cubes. For The Hot Buttered Rum: 1 quart cider or apple juice % cup light or dark corn syrup 2 tablespoons margarine or butter 6 to 8 oz. dark rum cinnamon or nutmeg Mix together cider, corn syrup and margarine in saucepan. Heat until margarine is melted and mixture is hot but not boiling. Pour 1 oz. rum into each serving cup or mug. Add cider mixture; stir. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg, or serve with cinnamon stick as muddler. Serves six to eight.
