Mrs. Bertha Urbin was in Wakarusa Friday to spend the day with Dr. and Mrs. John Guttman and
family. Mrs. Irene Baker, of Ingleside. Texas, came Friday to help with the care ano the other household duties in the home of Mr and Mrs. Everett Baker. Mrs. Baker was released from the LaPorte Hospital on Monday and will be recuperating at home after a fall w hich left her with a broken hip. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Walz. Mrs. Glen Walz and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Shinn, went to Marlev. Illinois, to attend the wedding of Mr. Bob Wolfe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted W'olfc, of Park Forest, Illinois. The wedding was at 11:00 a m. in the Marley CommunityChurch, with Mr. Bill Wolfe, brother of the groom, as best man and Miss Sue Rourk. of Frankfort, Illinois was the bride. \ reception was held after the wedding in the church parlors. Mrs. Esther Kaufman. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kaufman and family, of Fish Lake, and Miss Dawn Whorwell, of LaPorte, were in Lake Station. Indiana. Thursday for Thanksgiving dinner with Mrs. Carol Lee Epperson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Don Brenner and daughter, of Evanston. Illinois, and his father. Mr. William Brenner, were Thanksgiving day guests of Mr. Al Brenner and Miss Dorothea Brenner. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hiatt and two daughters, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, were here from Wednesday until Monday to spend the holidays with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Branson Hiatt. Other guests on Thanksgiving Day were Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Sherland and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Parcel, of Winamac. Mrs. Dorothy Burch, a former Walkerton resident, is seriously ill in a hospital in Indianapolis, and Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Houser went to visit her. Mr. and Mrs. William Dickson, of Koontz Lake, were in Glenview, Illinois, from Wednesday to Friday,
guests of their son, William Dickson. and family. On Thanksgiving Day the entire group were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Trinkaus, also of Glenview. Other guests were Mrs. Trinkaus’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller, of San Diego. California. It was a happy reunion with friends along with a delicious turkey dinner. Mr. and Mrs. James Nusbaum and three children, of Boise, Idaho, spent last week here with her mother. Mrs. Gladys Prentis. Mrs. Fayette Dunn spent several days in Chicago and suburbs last week. On Thanksgiving Day she and Mr. and Mrs. James Rook were guests of the Rook's daughter and family, in Chicago. Mrs. Dunn returned home on Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. James Craft, of Koontz Lake, who had been in Chicago for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Craig DeMyer and Mrs. Arthur DeMyer spent Thanksgiving in Martinsville in the home of Mrs. Craig DeMyer's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John McDaniel, and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Markie and Ms. Pat Markle, of North Liberty, along with Mr. and Mrs. Greg Howell and sons, of South Bend, were Thanksgiving guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Markle, in Hanover. Miss Sandy Steinke was in Walkerton several days last week with her grandmother, Mrs. Martha Mull. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sharpe, of Muncie, took her mother. Mrs. Charles Bandendistel to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Duffey's for Thanksgiving dinner. in Mishawaka. Thanksgiving dinner guests in the home of Dr. and Mrs. G. R. Hershberger and family were Mrs. Donald Petry. Mrs. Helen Smith, of Koontz Lake, was a Thanksgiving Dav guest of her sister, Mrs. Edna Mitchell, in Palestine. Illinois. A family Thanksgiving dinner was enjoyed with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henry as hosts in their home last Ihursday. Guests were Mr and Mrs. Donn Kelver and family, of laPorte; Mrs Russell Brown and family and Mr. and Mrs Bruce Henry sons, of Walkerton; and Mrs. Betty Kerchaert, of North Liberty. On Thanksgiving Day Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Jacob were hosts for 31 people. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Mullet assisted with the dinner which was tor the members of the Joe Mullet family. night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Jacob and family. Mrs. Greg Ramer and children, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, were here to spend Thanksgiving with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet. Mr. Rudolph Elder was released from LaPorte Hospital last Friday recovering from pneumonia.
