Harold Shcaks returned on Saturday from a week's visit with relatives in Ohio and Florida. Mrs. Matilda Lange, of the 76 Apartments, is a patient in the LaPorte Hospital following a fall on Sunday. November 5. at the home of her daughter. Mrs. John Crambe rt. Mrs. Thelma Barr. Kentwood. Michigan, called on Mrs. Newton Williams in the 76 Apartments on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Pat Carbiener was in the Bremen Hospital four days then transferred to St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, where she had major surgery. She is making a satisfactory recovery. Her daugh ter. Gina, was home for three days to be with her mother and returned to Chicago. Mrs. John Wathen spent last week in Indianapolis with Mr. and Mrs. Rick Trost and family. Also while in Indianapolis, she spent an enjoyable afternoon with Mrs. Loren (Rosemary) Tiede, a former Jassmate. Mrs. Wayne Burch and Mrs. Robert Urbin left on Friday of last week and went to Bloomington to pick up Miss Janet Ryan and then went on to Morehead. Kentucky, to watch Julie Ryan, a freshman member of the University of Kentucky volleyball team, who was playing in the Kentucky State Women’s Intercollegiate Conference state tournament. Julie seen much action and the team was runner-up in the tourney. The team will go this week end to the AIAW' Regional being held at Duke University. Durham. North Carolina. The Lady Kats" sported a 25-15 reguar season record.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hilyard and sons John and Ed, from Lima. Ohio, were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Peterson and family. An early birthdav dinner in honor of Mr. Hilyard and Thanksgiving was enjoyed on Sunday in the home of Norienne Peterson. Miss Sally Uhlir, of Chicago, was here at Koontz Lake for ten days visiting her aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Newell. Miss Kazuko Kajimoto, of Osaka. Japan, left for home Fridav after spending two months here with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bierly. Mr. and Mrs. William Erzig will serve as hosts again Saturday evening for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner. Next week there will not be a dinner because of the Thanksgiving holidays. Mrs. Maxine LeCount. of Nappanee. and Mrs. Esther Nichols, of North Liberty, were Thursday noon luncheon guests of Mrs. Alta Bowers. Kathy, Karen and Bill Murphy, of Louisville, Kentucky, were week end visitors with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Murphy. On Saturday other dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Tesch, of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Alta Bowers. Mrs. Esther Kaufman accompanied her daughter. Mrs. Caro! Mr. and Mrs. - Floyd Bowles, of Koontz Lake, were hosts for the Mariners Club Sunday night in the Presbyterian Church with 23 present. The Christmas meeting was planned and games were played.
