To Present Play This Week End The North Liberty High School Drama Club presents "Tom Jones", by David Rogers. Based upon the novel of Henry Fielding, this play captures the skylarking spirit of Henry Fielding's comic masterpiece and it’s a real hit. Young lorn Jones, foundling and ward of Squire Allworthy, is deeply in love with Sophia and she with him but her father has arranged for her to marry the Squire's sneaks nephew (and heir) young Blit’ll. The romance is discovered. Tom is banished and Sophia, with her maid. Honour, sets out to find him. They all find madcap adventures on the road to London and meet with many strange characters. The amusing and unexpected solution to Tom and Sophia's problems and the unmasking of Blifil take place in a hilarious trial scene at the end of the play. This remarkable adaption captures all the laugh-a-minute hilarity for which Tom Jones is famed, while remaining simple to produce and in the best of taste. Our two top bowlers for November 8 were Sally Barna with a 459 series and Stan Labno with a 451 scries. Honorable mention g<x*s to Anne Labno with a 159 game. On the other two alleys there were a couple of oddities. For
each game bowled the high game was 156 by Eleanor Knight, Helen Bowman and Tony Safar. The other oddity was Rev. and Mrs Bowman each had exactly the same total for three games. That's what you call togetherness. Remember to look in the In dependent-News for further infor mation. The oldest existing town of the thirteen original American colonies is Albany, New York, first reached' by the French in 1540.
