In tact, on several occasions the Shamrocks drove verv deep into Culver territory and after losing the ball, would force Culver to punt it back again.

( ulver's defense bending, hut not breaking, until a big plav in the garni' came earlv in the tourth quarter On a broken plav. thanks to a bobbled snap from center, quarterback Tony Kozlowski kept the ball and using his blinkers well earlv on the run. he finally broke into the open and raced "0 vards for a touchdown that broke the scoreless tie. Kozlowski then passed to Jason Young tor a two point conversion and it was 8-0. This must have been the needed spark that made the Shamrocks complete a drive this time as they took the following kickoff and put together a drive of their own. this one covering 55 vards in all and ending with a John Gouker to Rich Stewart pass for 21 yards and a touchdown. Then came the all-im-portant conversion attempt, a twopoint try that Gouker again elected to go for through the air and he hit Jeff Martin coming out of the back-
field for the tying points. This score forced the overtime periixfs as neither team could score in the remainder of the regulation time. In the first overtime period, which in Indiana consists of each team getting one set of four downs from the opponents four yard line, (.diver won the coin flip and elected to go on defense first. Ihe Shamrocks scored all the points they could in their bid to end the game right here as Gouker pushed the ball over from two vards out. I hen big Mark Romwalter plowed over on the ground for the all-important two-point conversion and the Shamnxks led lb 8 with C ulver's four downs still to come. Kozlowski pushed over from the one on a quarterback sneak to get the touchdown, but ihen they still had to get the two-point conversion to force another overtime period. This was accomplished as Robert Hart ran the bail in to make the score now lb all. 1 his time Culver lost the coin flip bul the Shamnxks gave the host Cavaliers the first crack at the offense. Hart ran in on the first down to quickly push them ahead but this time a run for two points failed. Now it was just North Lih ertv's offense that must get the 10 vards in four plavs. which they did as Gouker pushed over again from about two vards out. Now it stmxl clearlv up to any kind of an extra point and the decision was made to

Culver again won the flip and once more the winner forced the other team to go on offense. This time Culver's defense w as up to the task and a desperation fourth down pass from the five was deflected, forcing it to fall incomplete and thus leaving it all up to Culver's offense and the Shamnxks defense. a unit that has been called on time and time again this year and responded well. However, it wasn't to be on Friday the 13th. as on a third down plav Hart again ran over the goal line, this bringing an end to a verv interesting f<x>tball game that had to be a verv hard loss for the Shamnx’ks to swallow.
