Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kaufman, David and Shelly, entertained Thursday evening at dinner to honor his mother, Mrs, Esther Kaufman, whose birthday was that day. Other guests were Mrs. Carol Lee Epperson and family, of Lake Station. Mrs. Pauline Snyder, of North Liberty, was a Friday guest of Mrs. J. C. Milner. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thornburg will be hosts again Saturday evening for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner meeting. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Hunt came home last week end from a week’s stay at Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, with Mr. and Mrs. John Pearson and daughter. Mrs. Harry Doll and Mrs. K. C. Chapman were in Bloomington and Monmouth, Illinois last week where they visited Dr. and Mrs. John Stutzman, in Bloomington, and from there they went to other relatives there and at Monmouth. Mr. William Dickson, Jr., of Glenview. Illinois, and Mrs. Ellen Brede were guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Dickson for dinner at the Plymouth Moose Lodge Friday evening. Mrs. Minnie Brooker has moved from her home at Koontz Lake to apartment C on Indiana Street, Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. David Solmos and family, of Indianapolis, were Saturday and Saturday night guests of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Solmos. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kedes, of Hobart, were Sunday afternoon and evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Brant. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lowry and son and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Weigand and sons were callers. Mrs. Rudolph Cecrle came home Saturday from a week's stay in the Osteopathic Hospitai, South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Beagles entertained with a.dinner Sunday for their son, Tim's birthday. ud Beagles. * Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson, of Mount Clemens, Michigan, spent last Tuesday evening in Walkerton. Mrs. Johnson attended the O.E.S. meeting where she received her 25 year pin. Mr. Johnson joined his wife for the social hour after he had visisted old friends in town. The Johnsons resided here several years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Jacob were in Angola Tuesday and Wednesday due to the death of Mr. Jacob’s mother on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Jacob were also in Angola on Wednesday for the funeral service. Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Clark, of Koontz Lake, spent the week end in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Roger Williams and family. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Jacob and family were in Angola Saturday and Sunday with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Jacob. Mrs. Nellie Clindaniel, of LaPorte, spent Friday and Saturday with her sister, Mrs. Dale Ullery. Mrs. Nellie Smith. Miss Ethel Bierly and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty went to New Carlisle Monday forenoon to attend the Haven Hubbard Helpers meeting at the Hamilton Grove Retirement Home. Mr. Bob Cole. Miss Donna Moore and Miss Patty Teese were home from college over the week end with their respective parents. Seaman Richard Germaine was home for the week end with his mother, Mrs. Betty Germain. Rick is in the Navy and stationed at Great Lakes. HOLD BRIDAL SHOWER On Sunday, September 24. a bridal shower was given for Vicki Sue Rhodes, who will become the bride of Richard Schuyler on October 7. Hostesses for the occasion were Cindy Steinke, Patty Bennett and Robbie Steinke. A fun afternoon was enjoyed bv all with the door prize going to Betty Lauderback and game prizes going to Jackie Rhodes and Helen McCarty. Wedding bells, a cake with white doves and apricot roses and bells decorated the main table. Many nice gifts were received from guests coming from Delphi, Lakeville, Argos, South Bend, Grovertown and Walkerton. s In BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gross. The scores of the varsity competition were 15-0 and 16-14. For Glenn Suann Fontanes had two kills, Tammy Tuttle had a passing average of 3.0 out of a possible 4, and Patti Farrar had a 2.67 serving average out of a possible 3. The Glenn B-Team battled the Marquette reserves to the wire but ios by scores of 14-16, 15-3 and 15-10. This kept the Marquette B Team unbeaten at 8-0 while the Glenn girls slipped to 3-4 for the season. ART CLUB PLANS TRIP The Art Club has planned a field trip to Chicago to the Art Institute to see the Pompei exhibit. Pompei was covered by lava and the forms of the living were impressed and preserved until its recent excava-
