Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Seitz, of Detroit, Michigan, and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Seitz, of Atlanta. Gerogia, were here the first of last week because of the death of their aunt. Lona McCarty, who had been a resident of the Walkerton Nursing Home for some time. While here they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Steele. Mrs. Delight Mechling and Nancy. were here over the week end visiting Mr. and Mrs. Grant Steele and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Waldron, Sr., entertained with a pot luck dinner at their cottage on Shaffer Lake, at Monticello, Saturday, for Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Elder, Mr. and Mrs. Gell Fouts, Mr. George Pfeiffer. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pogodzinski. Mr. and Mrs. Frits Skinner. Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside, Mrs. Dorothy Walsh. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hostetter and Mrs. J. C. Milner. and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thornberg will be hosts for the dinner meeting of the Koontz Lake Conservation Gub Saturday evening in the club house with visiting and games following. Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Jacob were in Angola Sunday to visit his mother, who is a patient in a nursing home in Angola. Mr. and Mrs. George Nealis, of Tinley Park. Illinois, were week end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Brehm. Mr. and Mrs. Glen MacArthur, of Holiday, Florida, were visitors for the past week with Mrs. Jack Flaherty. The MacArthurs were former residents of Koontz Lake. Mrs. John Schamer, of Koontz Lake, entertained with a six o'clock dinner last week for the following ladies, Mrs. C. L. Lawrence, Mrs. Ellen Brede, Miss Dorothea Brenner. Mrs. Helen Smith. Mrs. Retta Williams, Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Mrs. Bess Ferverda. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Whitaker returned from Grapevine, Texas, last Saturdav where they were the

guests of Leroy’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Whitaker. They enjoyed visiting Dallas. Fort Worth and going to a Texas Rangers baseball game. Miss Virginia Moore, Glendale, California; Mrs. Lucille Soewenkamp, Evansville; and Mrs. Arlene McCandless, Princeton, Indiana, were overnight guests of their aunt, Mrs. Newton Williams. Friday, September 15. Visitors from Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Parkins and family and Nadine Donahue, are here spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carbiener. Visitors on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Webb Markly, Rensselaer; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sisk. Mr. and Mrs. John Markle and Patty, North Liberty; Mr. and Mrs. Greg Howell and boys, South Bend; Mr. and Mrs.J>oy Fishburn and daughter, Argos; Ray L. Carbiener, Walkerton; L. Lowman, Plymouth; and Gina Carbiener, of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cripe, Jr. and Kari, along with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dixon, left early Sunday morning for a trip to Majana Falls, Canada, where they spent two days and then went on to Buffalo. New York and into Pennsylvania to Gettysburg where they took a tour of the battlefields and other points of interest. Leaving there they crossed West Virginia into Ohio and then to Indiana and returned home late last Thursday afternoon.

Martha Young returned home Saturday with her nephew, Wayne Jingerm an, from Hobart, after spending a few days with her brother, Louis Ehrhardt and wife, in Charlestown, Indiana. « Mrs. Charles Bandendistel accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bandendistel, of Fish Lake, were in Mishawaka for dinner with Alice Duffy. Alice also played the organ for her mother while she was there. Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Downs attended an open house on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Berry for Mrs. Downs' mother, Mrs. Lulu Nunemaker, who was celebrating her 95th birthday. Also attending were Janiese Downs, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Klopfenstein, Mrs. Jayda Cripe and children, of Walkerton. Mrs. Rudolph Cecrle is a patient in the Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend, since Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. John Garab and Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Garab and family, of South Bend, spent the week end camping at Pokagon State Park. BRIDAL SHOWER A bridal shower was given for Teri Ann Kissinger whose marriage to Mark Alan Smith will take place on September 23. recently. Hostesses for the occasion were Kathy Smith. Margaret Smith. Linda Rozelle, Celeste Robbins and Jolanna Vervynckt. Thirty guests were present with the door prize going to Marge Bectel and game prizes were won by Cheryl Kissinger and Jan Engle. A loeviy flower centerpiece on the gift table was made by the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. Margaret Smith. Many nice gifts were received. counties, will hold their Fall District meeting at the Moose Lodge Hall in Plymouth, Wednesday, September 27, at 1:30 p.m. with Foster Rebekah Lodge of Tippecanoe as host. Verda Karn, of Tyner, District Deputy President, will preside. Past President of the Rebekah Assembly of Indiana, Helen Brinkman, from Schuyler Rebekah Lodge No. 39 of South Bend, will be the instructor for the afternoon. The Moose Lodge members will serve the dinner at approximately 5:30 p.m. The evening program will start at 7:00 p.m. with special entertainment. At 8:00 the Foster Rebekah Lodge with Linda Stevens, Noble Grand, will open lodge. During the meeting Tyner Rebekah Lodge No. 865 will confer the degree on new candidates. SET FATHER-SON BANQUET The Father and Son Banquet of the United Methodist Church of Walkerton, will be Thursday, September 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the church.
