On Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Hostetter were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hostetter who were helping the Roy Hostetters celebrate their sixth anniversary. On Saturday they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Russell (Bus) Hostetter, in Nappanee, and they enjoyed dinner at the Come and Dine, in Mishawaka. PARADE, DINNER AND BAND HIGHLIGHT THE WEEK END The parade began at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday along Topinabee Road, at Koontz Lake. Bicycles decorated with flags, streamers and the traditional red, white and blue crepe paper bunting and one with various odds and ends. back past the spectators lining both sides of the street while passing along the route, riders were throwing candy and gum to all. Cameras were clicking and people were cheering the riders on. After a couple of times around they stopped in front of the judges’ stand where the honorable Helen Reed presided in derby hat and a long yellow robe with glasses and mustache slightly askew , nevertheless, reading two special permits for the riders benefit. After much consideration first prize went to Jo Ann Heiachich; second prize to Kathy Yelachich for best decorated bikes and third prize to Midge Buza for the worst decorated bike. Several families gather on the patio at the "Crow's Nest." to enjoy the chicken fry that was cooked and served by the Koontz Lake Firemen and Auxiliary. Janulewicz and accompanied by two guitars, and other instruments toured the neighborhood entertaining to the pleasure of all who heard them. The Blueberry Festival had nothing compared to the entertainment that went on along Topinabee Road over the Labor Day week end.
