Many of these errors will go away with more experience. but the young Faicons have two of the stronger teams on their schedule in the first two weeks to further add to the growing pains. Bremen kicked to the Faicons and after failing to move the bail on offense, the hosts punted to the Lions and then held them at bay. However, the Bremen punt kept the Faicons deep in their own ter- i ntorv and after a five yard penaitv also helped set them back, a pitchout that never should have been tried bounced free and the Bremen i linebacker. Jim Adams, recovered i the ball at the Faicons b yard line. It took only three plays to move the six yards to score with Robin Hundt plunging m from two yards out. A true kick by Adams made it ”0 i with 4 45 left in the first quarter. < The two teams then battled i almost evenly for quite some time as the Faicons held the Lions in check, thanks to two pass interceptions by Tom Moore and Mark Izdepski. The play even moved to the Bremen end of the fieid when Moore twice hit end Steve Morris with passes for 38 y ards and a great circus catch between two defenders for another 18 yards. After getting a first down on the Bremen 12.

things again went wrong as first a three vard loss on a run. an incon’ plete pass and then M<>ore was smeared for a 10 yard loss attempt mg to pass to move the ball back to the 25 A fourth down plav taiied and Bremen took over. 1 heir time with the bail was short lived as they first received a holding penalty and then after pick mg up 18 vards fumbled the ball into the waiting arms of freshman Jeff Tinkey at the 30 sard one It was in vain however as a pass bv Moore was intercepted bv Andv Swain and with 2:55 showing in the half, the Lions put the bail in pia\ at their own 30. Opening up the game with five passes in this last three minutes, they also opened up some running room against the spread defense trving to protect against the pass and the Lions steadily ground out the yardage that et another score in with just H seconds left in the half. Hundt carried this one in also, this time from 14 vards out and this score had to be the one that hurt the voung Faicons as they went into the dressing room down 14-0 rather than just by one score. Bremen wasted little time in the second half. A short kick was returned by an up man to their own 4b and Bremen then went to work right away. First a 13 yard scamper by Todd Graverson and then a 2b yard pass completion on a fine catch of a pass tipped by a defender bv Scott Thompson put them deep into Falcon territory Another completion for nine yards was followed by a plunge for 3 and a first down at the one. Graverson then pounded it over against good resistance, but after Adam's third straight good point after, it was 21-0 with only 2:18 gone in the second half. Bremen once again took advantage of a Falcon error as and exchange of punts bv the two teams found Glenn trying to field a shorter punt in a crowd on a fair atch signal, but the bail wasn't handled cieaniv and Bremen cover ed the muffed kick at the Glenn 38. A dumb 1' vard penaitv tor using a fist cost the Faicons 15 more .ards and then an illegal procedure added five more as Bremen then only had to pick up 18 themselves and a Jas Leeper to Andv Swain pass covered the final 15 tor 'he
