IV Karen Sahloff, blue ribbon and in Division V Diane Steinke, blue ribbon. Johnson Township In the swine judging last week Todd Anderson placed sixth with his 196-200 barrow; third place with his 210-214 barrow and sixth with another. He also placed seventh with a 215-219 pounder and second with a 224-226 pounder. Another sixth place went to him and his 235-238 pound barrow Other winners included Rod Keeling, 14th with his 201-205 pounder. Roger Keeling, sixth and Doug Keeling 14th in the 240250 pound class. Todd Anderson placed second in the lightweight pair of barrows Chris Buckmaster was the champion in the breeding halter 56 and over filly in the horse and pony judging. Becky Robison won the draft horse show manship w ith Colleen, a I.bOO pound Percheron. Linda Trent was the champion in the horses 56" and over senior rider. She received a blue ribbon as well as Doug and Roger Keeling. Linda was reserve champion in the horses 56" and over, senior rider, in class 8 and in class 12 she won the championship with Doug Keeling the reserve champion. Blue ribbons were won by Linda Trent, Doug and Roger Keeling. In the horses 56" and over senior rider in the 16 class Linda Trent was the champion and Roger Keeling, reserve champion, both received blue ribbons also. In the beef judging, Jay Wright placed fourth with his 980-1050 pound Angus and Jill Bolze was tenth in this class. Jay Wright placed first with his 1005-1055 crossbred. Jill Bolze was sixth with her 985-1180 pound iiereford. (’hip Bolze was eleventh with his 1120-1165 pound crossbred. Shorthorn judging in the 10101215 class Chip Bolze was eighth In the champion beginner show manship Chip Bolze was third. Sheep judging found Greg Williams in 11th place with his 111-119 pounder; Dave Chapman placed fifth with his pen of 2 in the 80-95 pound class and he also was third in the senior showmanship single ewe lamb class.

INDIANA STATE FAIR I he Indiana State Fair in Indi anapolis will kick off on August I" with a hot air balloon race near the fairgrounds grandstand area. That will be followed by a quarter horse race, and free evening fireworks. Fair performers will include Don nv and Marie Osmond (Aug. 18), the Rov ( lark Show (Aug 20). and Mac Dvis (Aug. 26). There also will be a horse pull on opening day, tractor pulls throughout the first three days, cheerleading contests, bake-offs, an auction of Indiana champion ham and bacon (Aug. 20). and Indiana Trotting and Pacing Horse Association races August 21. 24 thru 26.
