WALKERTON TOWN BOARD NEWS The Walkerton Town Board met in regular session on Monday, July 17 with members William Elkin, Jack Rizek, Gladys Prentis and Michael Corbett present. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Two letters were submitted to the Board by the Planning Commission in regards to two building permits. Approval was given for both permits, one being froni Stanley and Roger Orcutt on a permit to build a multiple dwelling unit and the second was submitted by Pilgrim Buildings concerning a b2O square foot addition to the Jacob Drugs building. nuisance. It was stated that the town would try to handle this situation and if that was unsuccessful, charges would have to be filed with the County Prosecutor's Office, Two advertisements for bids were discussed and approved after a resolution was signed to ask for additional appropriations for the General Fund to purchase a new police car. This is to be advertised to accept bids to be opened on August 7, 1978. The other bid to be accepted will be for the sale of the 1971 ton Chevrolet truck. This will appear for four weeks before being considered. The board ordered an ordinance written up concerning the Police Reserve Officers, as suggested by County Officials. The board discussed the possibility of updating all ordinances next year. They are considering getting proposals from various companies that do this type of work. The 1979 budget was discussed at some length and after the discussion, was accepted for publication next month.
