United Telephone To Reclassify Exchange Rates United Telephone Co. of Indiana has filed a petition with the Public Service Commission of Indiana requesting reclassification of 29 exchanges in the state. George Schipper, Plymouth district manager for the firm, announced the filing on June 30. The action was taken to maintain a non-discriminatory rate structure between exchanges of equal size, according to Schipper, Local service rates for an exchange are determined by the number of main telephones that can be called on a local or other toll-free basis. The number of toll-free telephones available to United customers in these exchanges has increased because of expansion and growth of the communities. Exchanges involved are Arcola, Ashley, Aurora, Bargersville, Corunna. Cromwell, Decatur, East Enterprise, Fortville, Franklin. Jamestown. Knightstown. LaPaz,

United Telephone Co. of Indiana, Inc., announces plan to reclassify LAPAZ, NEW CARLISLE and WALKERTON exchange rates Rate groups are determined for each exchange according to the number of main telephones that can be called on a local or other toll-free basis. LaPaz, New Carlisle and Walkerton have outgrown their present rate groups. Reclassification is proposed to avoid discriminatory rate groupings between LaPaz, New Carlisle and Walkerton and other exchanges of comparable size. A petition has been filed with the Public Service Commission of Indiana outlining the proposal. New rates would become effective upon approval by the Commission. Under United's rate structure, certain reclassifications can cause minor reductions in monthly rates, rather than increases, if the Commission approves this petition. Rate changes would become effective upon approval of the reclassification by the Public Service Commission. United is publishing newspaper ads that outline present and proposed rates for affected exchanges in this area. Changes would vary from a decrease of five cents for one and four party residence service in Corunna. Knightstown and LaPaz. to an increase of $1.20 for one party business service, depending on the exchange classification. Additional revenues provided by reclassification would aid United in attracting more investment funds and in meeting increased labor and material costs to continue its service improvement programs.

THANKS The residents and staff of the RN Nursing Home wish to thank you North Liberty for making the 4th of July and eventful and fun filled day for us. The trophy we won is beautiful and a constant reminder of an exciting day. But. more important to us is our feeling of accomplishment having completed a float called “Revival.” Revival speaks of bringing fresh life to something that has lost its vitality. This is what happens to us when we have a chance to be a part of the community sharing and being able to make a contribution. Revival also speaks of one need to renew our relationship w ith God. Many of us grew up with a love and respect in serving God but have drifted away because of the business of life. Now that life has slowed its pace, we realize how much we as individuals and as a nation need spiritual revival. This is why we sing songs like “Give me that old time religion,“ “Battle Hymn of the Republic," and “Amazing Grace.” Again thank you North Liberty for the 4th of July Parade.
