Indiana, will open bids for the following: 1. Regular grade gasoline for school owned buses and lead-free gasoline for driver training cars in the summer. 2. Number two fuel oil to be delivered to John Glenn High School, Walkerton. Indiana. named Assistant Chief in 1956 and Chief in 1958. A school hus driver for 35 years. Hartley's contribution to the Liberty Fire Department has been recognized by the Community in many ways, including “John Hartley Day” celebrated last year. Under his guidance, a county-wide protection service was started; he was instrumental in getting a new fire station built; has served as an instructor in the use of a resuscitator not only in Liberty, but much of the surrounding area; established a tornado warning system for the county; keeps a “Class A" rating for Liberty for fire insurance purposes; organized a complete numbering system for all farms in Union County; has completed 82 hours of emergency medical training; is certified as a Master Fire Fighter; is an honorary lifetime member of the Richmond Fire Department. Hartley will be presented the award during the Saturday, July 15 session of the convention at which time the other nominees for the award will be presented District citations.
