Dean Freeland and Steve Papai. at Whispering Pines Goll Course, shot a hole in one on Tuesday, June 20 on the number 16. a 269-yard par 4 hole. He was using a Golden Ram golf ball at the time of his ace. 75th Anniversary Observed By OES Chapter 290 North Liberty O.E.S. 290 observed the 75th anniversary of the chapter on Saturday, June 24, in the Masonic Temple. Over 100 were present with many special guests. Edna Olinger, Worthy Matron, gave the welcome. A history book was presented by Hazel Kaser. Past Matron, who had written the first 50 years and now the next 25 years. It was dedicated to Evelene Thomas and all other Past Matrons of the Chapter. A program was presented by “The Sounds Os Joy" from Walkerton. A social hour was held in the social room that was decorated in light blue and diamonds. Special guests were David J. Miller. Right Worthy Grand Sentinel of General Grand Chapter and wife Helen; Mildren Y. Smith, Past Grand Matron, Ethel Walters, wife of the late Ray E. GRADUATES Miss Marlene Edison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Naragon. 25235 New Road. North Liberty, Indiana, received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Physical Education and a minor in English from Bethel College during the recent graduation exercises. Miss Edison graduated magna Cum Laude and ranked ninth in this year's class. She was named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. She served as captain of the girl's volleyball team, assistant editor of the yearbook, and secretary-treasurer of the Fellowship Christian Athletes committee. Miss Chari Lynn Kidder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kidder, graduated on June 4th with an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. She graduated as Valedictorian from Indiana Academy, Cicero. Indiana, in 1974. Chari is employed as a Secretary in the Purchasing Department of Bendix Corporation, South Bend.

HOWARD SNYDER RECENTLY PROMOTED Howard D. Snyder has been promoted from Cable Techincian to Service Foreman at the United Telephone Company of Florida in Avon Park. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Snyder, of Sebring, Florida. A native of North Liberty, Snyder graduated from Liberty Township High School and attended Marion College where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1967. With a National Science Foundation Grant he attended Wisconsin State University at Eau Claire and received the Earth Science Grant in 1971. Snyder joined the Florida company in July, 1974. as an Installer Repairman. Snyder is married to the former Noreen Brink, of Frankfort. Michigan. and they have four children. Rachel. Sarah. Howard and Ruth. HOLD BIRTHDAY PARTY Mrs. Ray Powers, of North Liberty. was very pleasantly surprised when the following relatives and friends arrived to help her celebrate her birthday on Sunday afternoon. Frank Greene and family, all of Walkerton; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman. Mrs. Francis McDaniel and Robert Powers, all of North Liberty. Mrs. Powers received many lovely gifts.
