Rick is on the All-Conbference football on offense and defense; All-' Conference team member in wrestling and he also is a sectional champion; All-Conference in baseball; a Kiwanis Award winner and named the Male Athlete of the Year at North Liberty this year. He is an apprentice carpenter.

striking out nine and walking two, made the difference as Downs and the Falcons' Kevin Gaw really hooked up in a fine pitching duel. Moreno, who was perfect in the first game with three extra base hits and a walk, pushed Eric Naragon across the plate ahead of him in the first inning with a shot over the fence for a 2-0 lead, which ended up to be the final score. In all. the Shamrocks picked up only five hits off Gaw, w'ho struck out 11 and walked three, but with Downs keeping the bases almost clear of Falcons and no errors being committed by either team, it w as just a good fundamental baseball game that jumped the Shamrocks to a 19-11 record and Glenn’s season ended with a 9-20 record. No one had more than a single hit as the pitchers dominated this game. HONORED WITH SHOWER Mrs. Bonnie Kurtz, 812-A Ohio Street, Walkerton, was honored on Saturday, May 20. with a baby shower given by Miss Linda Cooper and Miss Cheri Williams at 63199 Pecan Road, North Liberty. Guests were Mrs. Jill Reeder. Mrs. Pam Whitmer. Mrs. Therasa Whitmer, Mrs. Jean Ackley. Mrs. Linda Borton. Miss Laura Cooper, all of North Liberty; Mrs. Karen Kurtz and Mrs. Tina Dominiack, of Walkerton; and Mrs. Lois Drane and Mrs Linda Ritchie, of Knox. Games were played and plants were given as prizes. Fun was had by all. Mrs. Kurtz received many nice things including a handmade cradle for the new arrival that is expected in June.
