The Family of Steven W. Hartsell Lowell & Betty Hartsell Greg & Kathy Hartsell and family Kenneth & Jan Hartsell and family Gorden & Sandy Hartsell Suzanne Hartsell Senior Citizens Enjoy Potato Creek Meeting Potato Creek, our newest Indiana State Park was the setting on Monday, June 4, when Walkerton's Senior Fellowship group met for their monthly meeting. Mr. Leonard Beaty gave Thanks for all of the beauty which surrounded us and for the fine dinner we were about to partake of. Mr. John Zenon, president, presided at the business meeting which followed. Mr. John Guttman was the lucky recipient of the attendance prize. We were happy to have Father Anthony Letko of St. Patrick’s Church, with us for a short while. Mr. Harry Webster spoke of the four day Presley Tour to the Grand Old Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving this area on June 23rd and said reservations can still be made by calling him immediately at Walkerton 586-2853. It was unanimously agreed among these friendly senior citizens that we are fortunate indeed to have this new state park so close to our homes and we encourage everyone to take advantage of this lovely place. The lake is beautiful and restful whether you fish, swim or just observe. The rolling terrain at different times is covered with many species of wild flowers and ferns. Paved bike trails wind in and out of the ravines. Several picnic areas with water and electric hookups and covered shelters are available with no extra charge, but cannot be reserved in advance. Many spotlessly clean restrooms are nearby. Parking is provided fairly close to the picnic areas and paved sidewalks lead you to the shelters and picnic tables which makes it especially nice for senior citizens. Because of all these things, it was decided to again hold our next meeting at the park on July 13. This change of date was made because the regular meeting date would have been on the Fourth of July holiday week end. We hope all senior citizens of the area will join us there at twelve noon for a pot luck dinner. BIRTH A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard (Ike) Smith, Route 3, Box 28, Walkerton, in the LaPorte Hospital. on Saturday, May 27. Much time is wasted by listening to others talk.

Starter Mark Krallman was hit around by the Lions for five runs and Bob Downs gave up two runs as they split the pitching 3 2 /j innings for Krallman and 3‘/j for Downs.
