N.L. Seniors And Staff To Be Guests Today Graduating high schix>l seniors and staff members of North Liberty High School will be the guests of the North Libert) United Methodist Church on Thursday. June 1 for their noon meal. Continuing a custom established many years ago. the church women, under the supervision of Mrs. Osborn Fisher, will help to make a difficult day of commencement rehearsal a bit more pleasant. The “guests" will number UK in all and appreciate this break in their day. The mothers of graduates belonging to the North Libert) United Methodist Church assist in this giant undertaking. as well as other church women. Dr. Gaylord Saltzgaber is pastor of the church. All-Sports Banquet Honors NLHS Athletes The annual All Sports Banquet was held on Tuesday evening. May 30 at North Liberty High School with the Athletic Boosters Club and Athletic Department sponsoring the affair. Master of ceremonies for the evening was Mr. Harry Griffey, president of the Boosters. The invocation was given by Rev. Charles Richmond, pastor of the North Libert) Church of Christ prior to the group enjoying the carry-in dinner. The address was given by Mr. Homer Drews, head basketball coach and baseball coach at Bethel College. Mishawaka. The special awards presented by the school included the outstanding male player of the year to Rick Naragon and the outstanding female player of the year went to Marv Vukovits.

The North Liberty Church of Christ has a program planned for each evening of June 12-16 from 6:45 -9:15 p.m. and we call it “Teen Bible Time" or better known as T.B.T. We are interested in all teen agers that want to study the Bible together, sing around a camp fire, have group discussions about any problems that they may be facing, or any thing that bothers them. Then on the evening of June 16. we are planning a hot dog roast. Our leaders arc Joanne Knowlton and Brother Charles Richmond. Joanne will be teaching the teens from 7th grade - 9th grade, and Bro. Charles will lead those from
1 Oth grade - college. Each evening there will be a guest speaker and a time for refreshments. It is a great time for everyone and we are looking forward to seeing all of you. Also, we will be riding on a wagon drawn by a tractor to our destination each night. BEEF-ASPARAGI S ORIENTAL total cooking time: 14 minutes 12 fresh asparagus spears 1 1 c. water 1 lb. beef flank steak 1 T. cornstarch 2 T. soy sauce 1 T. cooking oil 1 t. sugar 2 T. dry white wine or cooking wine 2 T. chicken broth Hot cooked rice Cut asparagus diagonally into 1-inch pieces. In 1-quart casserole, cook asparagus in water, covered, at HIGH for 4 minutes, stirring once. Drain Cut flank steak across the grain into very thin slices (partially frozen meat is easier to cut) If partially frozen, allow meat to thaw. Combine cornstarch, soy sauce, oil, and sugar; pour over beef in 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish Cook covered, at HIGH for 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes Add asparagus pieces cook covered, at HIGH for 3 minutes Stir in wine and chicken broth; cook at HIGH for 1-2 minutes, stirring once Serve over rice 4 servings.

Pi ■ E 7 SAUCY ( Hit KEN DINNER total cooking time: 10 minutes 1 10-oz. package frozen peas 1 envelope cheese sauce mix I 3-oz. can chopped 1 envelope chicken gravy mix mushrooms, drained • । t. onion salt 2 c. cubed cooked chicken 1 c. water 1 T. chopped pimiento 1 c. milk Hot cooked noodles In large bowl, combine sauce mix, gravy mix, onion salt and dash pepper Gradually stir in water and milk. Cook, uncovered, at HIGH for 5-6 minutes, stirring after each minute Stir m peas, chicken, mushrooms, and pimiento. Cook, uncovered at HIGH for 5 minutes, stirring twice Serve over noodles 4 servings. MI( RO TIP. Keep frozen fruits on hand for fast salad and dessert combinations: over ice cream in fruit compotes, and over pound cake with whipped topping. The commercial packages mentioned here, or your own fruit-filled bags or plastic cartons, can all be placed in the microwave oven to speed thawing. Sweetened fruit in plastic pouch (10 oz.): place the unopened pouch in oven, in a bowl if desired. Cook at DEFROST for 3-4 minutes. Bend the pouch between your hands several times during cooking to separate fruit and distribute heat. Sweetened Fruit in cartons with metal ends (10 oz. 1: remove one of the metal ends Place opened package in oven, open side up. t ook, uncovered. at DEFROST for 1 minute. Remove from carton into bowl. Replace in oven; cook, uncovered, at MEDIUM LOW for 2-2 G minutes, breaking fruit apart with a fork after 1 minute.
Taxpayers appearing at such meeting shall have a right to be heard thereon. The additional appropriations as finally made will be referred to the State Board of Tax Commissioners, which board, upon receipt, will hold a further hearing within fifteen (15) days at the County Auditor's office of said county, or at such other place as may be designated.
