Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dipert will serve as hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner Saturday evening. Lhe regular monthly business meeting will be Friday evening of this week at the club house. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mole and two children. Scott and Cindy, of Glen Ellyn. Illinois, spent the week end at Koontz Lake with her mother. Mrs. John Schamer. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morrev came back to their Koontz Lake home last week after spending eight months in Fedhaven. Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Daube, Mrs. Charles Dauhe and Mrs. Helen Mitchell were in Lafayette Sunday to attend the graduation exercises of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Daube’s son, Steven Charles Daube. from the school of Agriculture with a bachelor of science degree. This was the largest class ever to graduate from Purdue University and because of this, graduation exercises were divided into three divisions. One was held Saturday afternoon, one Sunday morning and one Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John Guttman. Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Dr. and Mrs. John Guttman. Cindy and Elizabeth, of Wakarusa, and David Yoder, of Nappanee, attended the graduation exercises of John Robert Guttman Sunday afternoon in the Hall of Music. Purdue University. John earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial management from the school of man agement. A family gathering honoring Mother’s Day was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warner Clark Sunday afternoon. Those present were Mrs. Cloyd Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Shields and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Zumbuagh and family and Mr. Gary Clark. Mother's Day guests of Mr. Esther Kaufman were Mrs. Carol Lee Epperson and daughters. Mary and Jill, of Lake Station; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kaufman and daughter Shelly, of Fish Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bicrly and Mr. Art Zigler. Week end guests of Misses Catherine and Jane Keefe were Ellen and Betty Ryan, of Riverdale. Illinois; and Mr. Jix' O'Brien, of Walkerton, a brother-in-law of Catherine and Jane Keefe. guests in the Keefe home. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Baker and family were Mother's Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Baker and family, in Bremen. Mrs. John Northam came home Saturday from a three week stay in Bedford, Indiana, helping in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Neill, while she had to spend some time in the hospital. On Sunday Mrs. Northam went to her granddaughter's open house for graduation. This was in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Heston and family, in Knox. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Houser were Saturday night and Sunday guests of their daughter, Mrs. Roslyn Henthorn, in Van Wert. Ohio. Saturday evening and over night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Elder were their son, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Absher and daughter, of Crown Point. Sunday dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. William Keehn, of Crown Point, and Mr. Donald Absher, of Hobart. Mother's Day guests of Mrs. Cora Betz were Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Betz, of Chesterton. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wolfe and Jane, of LaPorte, and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Betz and Janice. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hostetter were in Indianapolis Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day with their son. Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Hostetter and family Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn. Jr., and family, of Knox, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hahn and family, of Plymouth, were Mother’s Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn, Sr., and family. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sharpe were guests of her mother. Mrs. Charles Bandendistel, on Thursday of last week. A public auction of household merchandise of Margaret Finkle, deceased daughter of Mis. Bandendistel, was held in Indianapolis. On Friday Mrs. Bandendistel accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bandendistel to Mishawaka for the day visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Duffey. Alfred Drews is a surgical patient in St Joseph Hospital. South Bend. He is in room 619. The Fellow craft Club annual pancake and sausage breakfast w ill be held on Saturday. June 3 at the Masonic Temple with the serving to begin at 6:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Newton Williams returned home on Tuesday, May 9. from a
visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Evans, and to see their new home in Sherman, Illinois. On May 6 she attended the wedding of her grandson, Michael Evans and Debbie Flentje, both of Springfield. Illinois. Mrs. Birdie Clarke, of Chicago, is here visiting her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Clarke, Koontz Lake. She just celebrated her 95th birthday on May 8. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Shinn and Mrs. Glen Walz were Mother's Dav guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Walz. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davis, of St. James. Florida, have been in the Walkerton area for a couple of weeks visiting numerous acquaintances and relatives. Mrs. James Rook, of Chicago, and Mrs. Robert Gore, of Crete. Illinois, were here Saturday evening as guests of their mother and for the Mother-Daughter Banquet at the Presbyterian Church. On Sunday Mrs. Dunn was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson at dinner, and in the evening she was a guest of her grandson. Mr. and Mrs. James Dunn, in Elkhart, but was entertained at dinner in a restaurant in South Bend. Mrs. Grace Garrett, of Lakeville, was also a guest. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kosoid and family, of Fort Wayne, were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Daley, of Koontz Lake. Other guests on Sunday was Mr. and Mrs. James Daley. Jr., and family. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet were Mr. Allen Smith and Mr. Glen Smith, of Fish Lake, and Mr, Carlos Mullet. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Burnside and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Burnside, all of South Bend, were Mother’s Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside. On Tuesday evening dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Burnside, of South Bend. A Mother’s Day dinner was enjoyed Friday evening at the Patchwork Restaurant at Middlebury for Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kuklinski. The dinner was given by their children coming from different places in Michigan. Helen Smith returned from a vacation spent in Sedalia. Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks and she visited friends also in Kansas City and then spent Mother’s Day with her daughter in Lonexa, Kansas.
