March 11. from tv 30 pm. with the traditional corned beef and cabbage to be served. Dancing will be from 8 (X) to I 1:00 p m. to the musk bv Frankie Kit at the school hall. Mr and Mrs Richard Murphey spent the week end in Indianapolis with their son. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Murphev and son. Mrs Uta Bowers, of Walkerton, and Mr and Mrs. Herbert Mantuk. of LaPorte. were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs Dennis Mantick, in LaPorte. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cripe, of South Bend, and Mrs. Vern Johnson. of Walkerton, spent the past two months in Florida. Mrs. Johnson spent the winter months with her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Stahls and family, in Jacksonville. while the Cripes were further down state. They returned home this past weekend. One highlight of Mrs. Johnson’s stay was when she and Mrs. Stahly went to the Liberace’s show and Mrs. Johnson was lucky enough to see his dressing room and has his autograph. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Waldron and Mrs Rudolph Elders will serve as hosts Saturday evening for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner with an hour of visiting and fellowship after. They will also serve as hosts for the following Saturday also. Mrs. Esther Kaufman returned home last Thursday from the LaPorte Hospital where she was a surgical patient. Mr Arthur Zigler returned last week from a six week trip to the west coast. Sundav he was a visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly and Mrs. Esther Kaufman. Mr and Mrs. Lamar Garab and family, of South Bend, were here Saturdav to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Garab. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Baker and family, of Bremen. Mr and Mrs. Everett Baker, of Walkerton and Miss Carla Baker, of North Liberty. were Sundav dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Douglas Baker and Paul. Tins was a birthday dinner honoring C aria's birthdav. Mrs. Fdward \ anderheof. Mrs. Chester I haver and W illiam DePoy in the I aPorte Hospital. Mr Loren Jones came back last week from a week long visit in ( alifornia with his two sisters. Miss Bettv Jones, in San Diego and at Petaluma, he and Betty visited with Mr. and Mrs. Tony ( atclani and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullcry spent Sundav with her brother. Mr. and Mrs. G Wisley. in Valparaiso. Mrs Robert Erdelyi, Mrs. Don Ludwig. Mrs. John South. Mrs. Robert Holland. Mrs. Chet Bigler and Mrs Norman Hostetler attended a bowling tournament in Fort Wayne on Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Shinn returned home recently from an eight weeks stay in Florida. At Pine Island they visited with his sister. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davis and at Punta Gorda they stayed in Mr. and Mrs. Bill Seeses mobile home and visited with them, being there for the winter from Donaldson. At Lake Placid they called on Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert and at Sebring they visited with Dr. and Mrs. V. B. Wolfe. Mr. Shinn stated they nearly froze in Florida this year. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Smith and Miss Ethel Bierly were in Kendallville last Thursday to pay a visit on Mr. William Casey, who is a surgical patient in the Kendallville Hospital. Mr. Casey is known by many in Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Smith returned on Monday afternoon from a months vacation with three weeks of it being spent in Florida. At Lake Placid they lived in a motel and visited friends around the area with calls made on Dr. and Mrs. V. B. Wolfe and Mr and Mrs. Harry Doll, in Sebring. They reported the weather cool ail the while they were gone but no snow to shovel!
