WRITERS WORKSHOP PROGRESS REPORT MEETING HELD A 1977 personal progress report was given by members of the Writers Workshop on Tuesday evening. This meeting, held at the Koontz Lake Library, was the first since November due to road conditions. The accounts of progress (?) were tongue-in-cheek and amusing. Assignments were read by Adelaide Stitils. Ed Moravek and Nadine Keiper. The group had poems written by Don Segraves and Sheila Gibson and a children’s story by Lynn Wamsley to read. These were carefully dissected, discussed and enjoyed, and critiques will be given to the writers. A Spring Writers Seminar was discussed and plans were begun for its details. With February being the Month of Presidents, the writers were assigned a task that will require some research, a conversation. musings, or letters by George or Martha Washington or Abe or Mary Lincoln, commentary on events of that period. The challenge will be to keep the dialogue to the idiom of that time. The Workshop requires no permanent commitment. Any writer
with time to drop in is welcome. The meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month (weather permitting) at 8:00 p.m. fast time and always at the Koontz Lake Library. If a writer would like to have his work read and criticized, but cannot attend the meetings, the manuscripts, peotry, etc., may be mailed to Writers Workshop. Koontz Lake Library . Route 5. LIVE AND LET LIVE Tolerance is the quality in most of us which enables people to be happy in their own way instead of our way.
