Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Divine returned Sunday from a trip to San Diego. California, where they spent Thanksgiving with their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Harris Grotenstein and daughter, and they celebrated her first birthday while there. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stephenson and Darwin were hosts for Mr. and Mrs. David Shirk and son, of North Liberty; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Amor and Mr. Amil Schultz on Thanksgiving Day. Mr. and Mrs. James Patterson and family entertained with the traditional turkey dinner on thanksgiving Day for Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patterson, of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Mrs. Burnadette Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Divine and sons, of Plymouth; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barnett, of Grovertown. Mrs. Elizabeth Michalski, Koontz Lake, is a medical patient in the LaPorte Hospital. Mr and Mrs. Claude Sheneman and Mr. Cleo Sheneman, of North Liberty; Mr and Mrs. Ray Stoneburner and Mrs. Chester Thayer were in Mishawaka on Thursday for Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Don Teter.
Monday afternoon Mrs. Jerry Cole and her twin sons, of LaPaz, called on Mrs. Chester Thaver. Albert, William and Dorothea Brenner spent Thanksgiving Day in Evanston. Illinois with Bill’s son and his family. DINNER RECEPTION IN CELEBRATION OF SOTH ANNIVERSARY ENJOYED A dinner-reception to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of the Clarence Wilsons, of Koontz I Tike, was held on Saturday. November 26 at the beautiful Garden Room of the Martinique, in Evergreen Park. Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The happy occasion was sponsored by their two daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel J. Rajski and Mr. and Mrs. William W. Jordan. The dinner was followed by champagne toasts and dancing to a four-piece orchestra. It was a night long to be remembered by the approximately 100 relatives and friends, some having traveled long distances, who were present. Many others, who could not be present, sent greetings from as far away as Mexico. Congratulatory messages also included one from the White House. Glenn Girls Drop Mishawaka In Basketball The John Glenn girls basketball team traveled to Mishawaka on Tuesday. November 22 and handed the host team a 61 -47 defeat behind a very good and well balanced performance. The win was the second in as many games for the Falconettes this year Julie Ryan was the big gun as she totaled 19 points and also pulled down a game high 11 rebounds. Mishawaka's Debbie Shriver, their outstanding player, was saddled for a lot of the game with foul problems, had 13 as did Debbie Schafer to pace the hosts. Kerri Gardner added 14 points and had six assists for the Falconettes and five other girls shared in the points for Glenn.
