last week was designated as career week at John Glenn High School. ( areer week was sponsored bv the guidance department and aided by the library personnel and all staff members at the high school. Special emphases was on helping students become aware of some of the occupations available to them, and to help them find out about their interests and abilities as thev lood forward to their careers. Pictured above is Mrs. Marian Chapman. Ivy lech Nursing Instructor, explaining various nursing careers. During the week, freshmen took a Kuder Interest Inventory ; Juniors were given the A.5.V.A.8.. and aptitude test; and Seniors were given an interest and abilities test. All of these students will be receiving the results from the tests in November. Thursdav was a special career dav Local and area people were asked to come in and speak to the students giving an overview of their job responsibilities and skills, qualifications and training needed, work conditions, advantages and disadvantages, and employment outlook Students chose to attend two of the seventeen different occupations sessions or to go on one field trip.
