WALKERTON Miss Linda Huhnke, president and Mrs. Lewis DeLand, treasurer of Epsilon Chi chapter of Tri Kappa, attended the Province 10 fall workshop held in Goshen on Saturday. September 17. A birthday luncheon was given in honor of Mrs. Edwin Hayter last Thursday in her home by her two daughters. Mrs. Roger Hosking, of Muncie, and Mrs. Charles Travelbee. Those present were Mrs. Ruth Hayter, of New Smyrna Beach. Florida; Mrs. Ted Daube, Mrs. Walter Hayter. Mrs. Sidney Smith. Mrs. Martha Mull. Mrs. Herman Harness, Mrs. James Gordon. A birthday dinner honoring Tim Beagles was given on Sunday by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Beagles and Scott. Others present for the celebration were his grandparents. J obituaries MRS. T. F. RADMACHER Mrs. T. F. (Jacie) Radmacher, 401 Roosevelt Road. Walkerton, died at 3:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, in Harrison County Hospital. Corydon, Indiana, where she had been a patient for several days. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Beanblossom and Stecnbergen Funeral Home. Corydon. Burial will be at Corydon. She is survived by one son, Dr. Lamar Radmacher. of Tucson, Arizona; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister. Miss Dora Faith, of Corydon. She was the widow of T. F. Radmacher. who had served as superintendent of Walkerton schools for several years. DOROTHY I. MILLER Dorothy Irene Sharp Miller, of 431 Hicks Circle. Clinton, Tenn., passed away at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. September 21, after an extended illness. She was born on October 6, 1928, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is survived by Rev. Benny Miller; three sons, David, John and Paul, all of Clinton, Tennessee; one sister. Cora Lou Henderlight, Knoxville. Tennessee and one grandson. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Holly Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton, Tennessee. Burial was in Lynn Hurst Cemetery, Knoxville. Tenn. ORA C. SMITH Ora Cecil Smith, 94 , 705 Harrison Street, Walkerton, died at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, September 27 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton, following an extended illness He was born in LaPorte County on August 26, 1883 and had lived in Walkerton for 55 years coming from Gary, Indiana. On April 8, 1916, in Chicago, Illinois, he married Mattie Bardwell, who preceded him in death on September 3, 1929. Surviving are one son, Charles Smith, of Gardena. California; two daughter. Mrs. Albert (Alda) Ray. of Walkerton; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. 4
Friends may call at the Nus-baum-Elkin Funeral Home. Walkerton until 9:00 p.m Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday. 2:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. Rev. C. O. Moreillion, pastor of the Walkerton Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS The following officers of St. Patrick Council No. 5709, Walkerton. were installed during the monthly meeting, held in the Lions Youth Building on September 22. at 8:00 p.m. The following were installed. The Council's Corporate Communion Sunday will be held on October 2 at St. Patrick's Church during the 9 a.m. Mass and it will be offered up for the deceased father of District Deputy Glenn Smude. All members are requested to attend. A breakfast will follow immediately after in the school hall. GLENN VOLLEYBALL RESULTS The John Glenn volleyball team was busy again this past week. On Tuesday, September 20, South Central visted the Glenn girls and the Falconettes won both ends of the meet. The Glenn varsity won by scores of 15-5 and 15-3 to raise their record to 5-1. Julie Ryan was best server with a 3.0 average, Karol Cripe the top passer with 3.0 and Terri South the best spiker with 42 per cent. The B-Team won by scores of 15-7 and 15-10 to jump their record to 4-2. Suann Fontanes served 10 for 10 and Patti Farrar was recognized for good serving and defensive work. On Thursday, September 22. Glenn's girls visited Michigan City Marquette for matches. Both teams suffered losses in these matches with the varsity losing by scores of 15-10 and 15-13. Julie Ryan and Karen White had the best serving average. 1.75, while Julie Ryan and Kerri Skiles had 1.47 passing averages. Julie Ryan also had skills with her spiking. The B-Team scores were 9-15. 15-11 and 15-8. with the Michigan Citv team coming from behind to win. On Monday. September 26, the Falconettes hosted Plymouth. Ihe Plymouth varsity dropped their decisions to Glenn with the Falcon - ettes winning easily 15-9 and 15-3. This jumped their record to 6-2 for the year. Julie Bell was the best server with a 2.85 average, Christy Rausch had a 2.5 passing average and Julie Ryan and 8 kills. The Glenn B-team lost to the Plymouth reserves by scores of 15-9 and 15-2, dropping their record to an even 4-4 for the year. Pam Aitken served six for six for 100% accuracy. PANTHERS BEAT JIMTOWN 16-0 Urey Middle School defeated Jimtown Tuesday night 16-0. Both scores came in the second period. A 62 yard pass play from Elkin to Tinkey set up the first TD. Tinkey scored two plays later from the 5 yard line. The point after was good and Urey kicked off and held Jimtown was forced to punt and Urey took over on their own 30 yard line. Four plays later Elkin lofted a pass to Newland who took it 53 yards for Urey’s second TD. The PAT was good. The Panther defense held Jim-

Debbie Vancza was top server and she scored 15 points in the three games. The eighth grade won by scores of 15-10 and 15-13. Danielle Sheaks was leading scorer with 11 points to her credit. Evening worship services are scheduled for 7:30 on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday with Homer Burke, Keim Houser and Eldon Burke speaking respectively Also, Robert Herbster will lead in a sing spiration after the Friday workship service. Gary Deavel will provide the organ music.
