IOHNSON TWP. REUNION ENJOYED I'hc Johnson Township reunion <as well attended with HO persons jartaking of the carry in dinner Sunday at the Community Buildng. Mrs. Brooke Bowers gave the • able prayer. Eighteen members of the John Glenn High School swing choir, under the direction of Mrs. John Glaub, entertained following the dinner. Burdell Williams, president, was master of ceremonies when officers tor another year were elected, lohn Dreessen. president; Clyde Snodgrass, vice-president; Mrs. Raymond Smith, secretary and treasurer; Mrs. George Williams, entertainment; Lawrence Whitmer, welcome committee and Mrs. John Dreessen. Mrs. Charles Daube and Mrs. Harold Knowlton, kitchen committee. Prizes were awarded to Russell Bierly, oldest man; Ruth Clark, oldest woman; Mrs. Ora Adkins, came the farthest; Lawrence Whitmer residing in township for ’2 years and Clyde Snodgrass, least hair. Ice cream was served in the late afternoon, all reporting an enjoyable day. JOHNSON TWP. HOMEMAKERS MEET Eighteen members and a guest, Mrs. Ernest Hayter. New Smyrna Beach. Florida, attended the Johnson Township Extension Homemakers Club on Wednesday, September 21, at the Community Building. Mrs. Brooke Bowers, president, presided at the business session. Mrs. Harold Knowlton and Mrs. Esther Kaufman, will get the iesson. “Inflation and Credit." on November 7. Mrs. Martha Mull gave the health and safety lesson on bath tub accidents. Mrs. Marty Malstaff gave a very informative lesson on protecting your home with fire alarm and smoke detectors. The birthday song was sung for Mrs. Helen Mitchell. Mrs. Knowlton and Mrs. Kaufman. The club will entertain the St. Joseph County Lincoln Township Club on October 19. A pot luck dinner will begin the day at 12:30 a ith Mrs. Don Wray as chairman. Attendance awards were receivd by Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Charles Daube and Mrs. Hayter Refreshment committee was Mrs. Walter Johnson, Mrs. Ruth < lark and Mrs. Floyd Dipert. LOCAL K OF C COUNCIL RECEIVES AWARD Knights of Columbus Council No. 5709, of Walkerton. recently received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Gibault School for Boys in Terre Haute, Ind. Gibault School is a residential treatment facility for troubled youth and is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus of the state of Indiana. I ach local Indiana K of C Council contributes an assessed portion of its income toward the operation of Gibault School. When a local council has met its assessment, a < ertificate of Appreciation from Gibault School is presented to the local council in a special award ceremony by the K of C District Deputy who is responsible for serving as liaison between the local councils in his district and the state ’ffice of the Indiana Knights of f olumbus.
