The store was located where the old A & P Store used to be which burned several years ago. As you can see a lot of people are standing in front of the store and we are not sure if the store was having a fantastic sale or if the folks were wanting to get in to the American Express booth in the store. Also noted was the young man standing in front of the pole, seemingly not having a care in the world as to what was going on.

Triton Hands Falcons 26*12 Loss Friday An inspired Triton football team, winless in their first four games of the season, put it all together Friday night at the expense of the John Glenn Falcons for a 2b-12 victory over a Glenn team that never really got "up'’ for the game. Led by a big bruising sophomore. Rich Brunk, younger brother of Triton s all-stater of last year, Jeff Brunk, the Trojans simply outmuscled the Falcons in grabbing the win. After gaining one first down on three plays. Brunk broke loose on the next play and got into the Falcon secondary and outran every - one for an overall 45 yard touch down scamper. The try for the extra point by kicking was no good and with just two minutes gone, the hosts were leading 6-0.

A series of four punts followed as neither team was able to pick up a first down before the Falcons turned the ball over on a fumble on the second play a series giving the Trojans possession deep in their own territory at the 10 yard line as the Falcons had been gaining the edge in the kicking game. They gained one first down and were forced to punt again from their ow n 23 when Rhondo Rininger broke through and blocked the punt with Rod Miller covering the loose football at the Triton one yard line. Just one play was needed as Damon Flaugher got the ball into the end zone on a quarterback sneak to knot the count at six each. A fun failed in an effort to pick up two extra points and 10:17 remained in the first half. Triton took possession again after the kickoff at the 49 yard line after a short kick and 15 yard run back. They put together an 11 play scoring drive which included their only completed pass of the night and one Glenn encroachment penalty to pick up the 51 yards and the tie-breaking score as Brunk carried the last 11 yards in on the scoring play. He was stopped short on a run for two extra points and the hosts led 12-6 with 4:37 remaining in the half. Glenn had possession two more times, but were unable to move and the score remained that way until halftime. The second half started with both teams again trading punts before the Falcons had possession at the Triton 44. Flaugher started throw - ing the ball as their running efforts for the night had been almost nil, and the Falcons picked up their initial first down of the night with

7:56 left in the third quarter. Another pass good for 29 yards to Steve Morris put the ball at the Triton 2 from where Mark Izdepski banged over for the tying score. A pass for two points was intercepted to stop any chance of Glenn taking the lead. It looked like the momentum had swung to Glenn when they recovered a Triton fumble on the following kickoff but they were slapped with an unsportsmanlike conduct for 15 yards when the ball was flipped free after the fumble recovery instead of given to the official. Then an apparently good pass to Morris was wrestled awav from him by one of two Triton defenders that were all over him to take the ball away from Glenn and stop what momentum they had going. A Triton punt gave the ball back, but another Glenn fumble was covered by Triton and they put the ball in play on the first play of the fourth period from their own 45 yard line. A drive of eight plays with a Glenn offside call and later a Glenn face mask penalty, covered the 55 yards with Brunk again crossing the goal line, this time from 12 yards out. This time Brunk also ran the extra points in and a 20-12 lead was held with 8:37 left in the game. After a change of possession again on a Falcon punt, the game's wierdest play followed that gave Triton the opportunity to score the clinching touchdown. A first and 10 at their own 48 found a broken play when players moved all over .the place but no whistles sounded and a very alert Triton center snapped the ball to quarterback Curt Ammerman who ran free through a bunch of stunned players until he was overtaken from behind at the Falcon nine yard line. Add on another Falcon five yards on an illegal procedure call and the Trojans punched the last four out with Jeff King scoring on the four yard run. The extra points were no good but this was matter after the fact as the game was decided with only 5:58 left and the Falcons still a flat football team for the night. This just wasn't a good Glenn performance and a couple of bruised and bumped injuries in this
