One of the really outstanding musical groups in Indiana. these singer-musicians have taken their ministry to churches and organizations throughout the midwest. As individuals; as a group, they joined with the community choir in July of 1976 to present the patriotic musical. “I Love America” in the North Liberty High School auditorium. They will present the entire morning worship service in the North Liberty church, located at 103 South Main Street in downtown North Liberty. The public is invited to attend this service. The worship service will commence at 9:30 a.m. “The New Day Singers” will be introduced by Mrs. Gary Nelson, director of music for the church and

Betty Peddycord will be the worship leader. Fairfield Edges Shamrocks 16-13 On Extra Points By Harn Griffey Frustration was the feeling in the stands last Friday as the North Liberty Shamrocks met the Fairfield Falcons in a conference football game at Jackson Field. The frustration on the field caused the young and inexperienced Shamrocks drives to be thwarted and the coaches to blow their cool. This reporter arrived with about three minutes left in the second quarter with North Liberty leading 7-0. Quarterback Alan Seiner threw a pin-point pass between two
Falcon defenders to Rick Naragon for good yardage, only to have it called back by an illegal use of the hands penalty. Fairfield took an 8-7 lead on a 30 yard pass from Gary Dausman to Jim Speicher and the conversion on a pass from Dausman to Jim Bitting. It looked as though whenever Fairfield needed yardage, they would go to the air. and the almost non-existent pass rush made the job that much tougher for the defensive backs. Fairfield scored again in the third quarter on a 5 yard run by Mike Garver and a two point conversion run also by Garner. North Liberty scored their first touchdown on a 5 yard run by Todd Stull and John Gouker kicked the conversion. Stull scored the other touchdown on a 13 yard run. Rick Naragon was the leading ground gainer for the Shamrocks and he had 105 yards in 17 carries. It is of my opinion that the Shamrocks should make better use of the fine throwing arm of quarterback Alan Seiner. On the few passes he has thrown he has threaded the needle on some of them that were remarkable. If the offensive line can give him a few extra seconds I am certain he will do a job for them. This Saturday afternoon the Shamrocks will host the John Glenn Falcons at 2:00 p.m. This should prove to be a good game with two evenly matched teams with identical records of 1-4. They beat Fairfield 15-4, 14-16 and 15-11 with the B-Team also winning by scores of 13-15, 15-10 and 15-8. This was a very important game for the Shamrocks as it is the second conference win. At one point during the game the Shamrocks were behind but Mary Jo Morey served eight points in a row and Mary Vukovits nine, pulling them ahead. Cindy Jaworski played well for the B-Team serving eight points. On Wednesday the Shamrocks played the Culver Academy for Girls for the first time ever. The girls were a little tired from the strenuous game the night before resulting in some poor serving but did have some excellent plays out of the net. They lost the first game 15-17 coming from behind to tie the score before succumbing. The Shamrocks went on to win the next two 15-8 and 15-8. Becky Salyer did an outstanding job of serving 13 points. Mary Jo Morey was a minor casualty being hit with the ball breaking her glasses and bruising her eye. Kathy Albert helped the B-Team win 15-3 and 15-10 by scoring seven points. The success thus far has been attributed to the togetherness of the team as a whole and to the coaching of Miki Meyer.
