NAOMI FELLOWSHIP MEETS The Naomi Fellowhsip of the United Methodist Church met in the home of Mrs. Alice Huhnke on August 16 with six members present. Our Chairperson, Mrs. Mary Bauer, opened the meeting by reading Psalms 121: verses 1 through! 8. The following announcements were made September 15 being the Father and Son Banquet which will be held at the John Glenn High School and the ladies of the Fellowships will serve; September 7 will be a work day at the Church to make decorations for the banquet. There will be no general meeting in September because of the banquet. On October 20. the Naomi Fellowship will be hostess for the general meeting. Mrs. Ann Weber. District Chairperson of Christian Personhood, will be the guest speaker. There will be a Country Store on
October 13-14-15 and help from the Fellowships will be needed. Get well cards were sent to Iva Freeman, Hazel Flowers, Ethel Bierly and Margaret Cecrle. Devotions were given by Mrs. Esther Kaufman, taken from the Upper Room, they were entitled “Preserving Our National Beauty." She also read from Psalms 24: verse 4. The lesson was given by Mrs. Mary Bauer, using an article by Edward McNorton on Instant Happiness. The article compared the TV commercials that we hear today to Old Fashioned Evangelism. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess.

Indiana State Park Turns To Solar Energy Governor Otis Bowen will officially dedicate the first solar-heated facility in Indiana’s State Park systen on Friday, September 2, Director Joseph D. Cloud announced today. Whitewater memorial State Park, 2 miles south of Liberty. Indiana, will open its new solarheated Office and Information Building in ceremonies at 3:30 p.m. The building features solar collectors (with a 70° tilt angle heat air) which can be used directly to heat the building, or to store heat for later use by heating a bin of 17,500 pounds of rocks. At night, or on a cloudy day. the building is heated by recirculating interior air through the rock storage bin. A conventional heat pump provides auxiliary heat if needed.
