NORTH LIBERTY
Bernita Kennedy and Brian and Michael went to Northlake, Illinois, on Sunday to visit her aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs. John Halabrin and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schrader, Nick and Nicki and Cecil Hay returned from a trip to Denver, Colorado. They also went to St. Louis, Mo., to visit with her cousins. Ann and Kay. Mrs. Portio Schwitzer, of Fairbanks, Arizona, and their children visited for two weeks at their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clark. They left for their home on Sunday. Christy and Douglas Wesolek, children of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wesolek. of Wakarusa, visited several days here last week with their grandmother, Mrs. Effie Hammaker. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Newcomer, of LaPaz, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Folk, of South Bend, had an open house on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 for their mother and grandmother. Addie Hanson. Refreshments of ice cream, cake, candy mints and nuts were served to about 50 guests. She received many useful gifts and many beautiful cards. David Hanson, her grandson, called her long distance from Missouri to make the day complete. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cullar invited Emma Woods and Addie Hanson to their home on Monday for dinner in honor of Mrs. Hanson’s 80th birthday. Use Our Classified Ads!

Added To The Faculty At N.L. High School Mr. Joseph Lawecki has been added to the faculty at North Liberty High School as assistant principal and athletic director to replace Mr. Chuck Johnson, who has accepted a teaching position in South Bend. Mr. Lawecki has a world of experience having served as a coach at Washington High School, assistant principal at Riley and principal at Central and Dickinson Middle Schools. Along with other responsibilities he will have primary responsibility for attendance and discipline. Mr. Brent Lea has been hired to replace Mr. Cinal as assistant football and wrestling coach and science teacher. Mr. Lea has had experience as assistant football and head wrestling coach at both Mishawaka Marian and Kankakee Valley High Schools. FRIDAY MORNING LEAGUE TO BEGIN IN SEPTEMBER Ihe Friday Morning Coffee Bowling League first organizational meeting will be held at the Pizza Bowl Lanes, Walkerton, at 9:30 a m. on Friday, August 2b. ENJOY NEWLAND REUNION The Newland family reunion was held at the Walkerton Community Building on Sunday, August 21, with 54 present. The affair was a most enjoyable one for all. The Gene Youngreen family and Mrs. Bonnie Smith hosted the affair. The oldest man present was Lester Sanders, of Alger. Ohio and the oldest woman was Rose Newland, of LaPorte. The youngest was Jackie Bechinski. The Damon Newland family came the farthest coming from Pittsburgh, Pa. Next year the reunion will be held at the same location with the Damon Newland family in charge. NOTICE OF ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION Notice is hereby given the taxpayers of Marshall. St. Joseph, LaPorte Counties. Indiana, that the proper legal officers of said municipal corporation at their regular meeting place at 7:30 P.M. on the 6th of September. 1977, will consider the following additional appropriation which said officers consider necessary at this time. Cumulative Building Fund $20,000 (Architect Fees & Construction of Dike) Taxpayers appearing at such meeting shall have a right to be heard thereon. The additional appropriation as finally made will be automatically referred to the State Board of Tax Commissioners, which board will hold a further hearing within fifteen days at the County Auditor's Office of said county, or at such other place as may be designated. At such hearing taxpayers objecting to any of such additional appropriation may be heard. Interested taxpayers may inquire of the County Auditor when and where such hearing w ill be held.
