The John Glenn Falcons and the North Liberty Shamrocks football teams began practice last week with the workouts proving to be strenuous. The Shamrocks arc doing their regular clonditioning routines including running through the tires. In formation practice at John Glenn, two participants go for the thrown ball. ^BnUARIB MRS. MAMIE V. SHERMAN Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie V. Sherman. 70, of 21816 Kern Road, who passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a long illness, will be held at 11:00 Thurs-
day, August 18, in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel, South Bend, with Rev. Lauren Beans, associate pastor of Calvary Temple, officiating. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. She was born on September 3, 1906, in South Bend and had lived there all her life. On November 11, 1927, she married Wilmer Sherman, in Woodland, who died November 24. 1966. Surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Doris Bowers, of South Bend; seven grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Tetzlaff and Mrs. Edna Sherman, both of North liberty. BEATRICE ANN WEYLER Beatrice Ann Weyler, 71, 1131 Harrison Street. Walkerton, passed away at 4:34 p.m. Saturday, August 13 in the LaPorte Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on July 26, 1906 at Bay City, Michigan, and had lived in the area for 25 years coming here from Chicago. She was a nurse’s aide. On November 16. 1944. in Chicago, she married Stuart Weyler, who survives. Other survivors include a son. Kenneth LaPan, Bay City, Michigan; two brothers, Arthur Gregorio, Lyons, Illinois, and Raymond Gregorie. LaGrange, Illinois; three sisters. Clara Besslcr, Powell, Wyoming, Martha Halligan. Brookville, Illinois, and Virginia Janis, Palos Hills, Illinois; five grandchildren and four great-grandchild-ren. One daughter preceded her in death. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Patrick Catholic Church. Walkerton, of which she was a member, with Rev. Anthony Letko, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. MARVIN KING Marvin King, 81, of 66418 State Road 23, North Liberty, died in his residence at 9:15 a.m. today after an extended illness. He retired from Wells Aluminum Corp., North Liberty, in 1966 after working there 22 years. He was born on March 12, 1896, in North Liberty and lived Single, Under 62? The new facilities at North Liberty will be open for football also this fall with the opener of the football season on Saturday, August 27 when the Shamrocks will host the North Judson Bluejays at 2:00 p.m. Included in the new outdoor sports facility are tennis courts, football field, track and a fine seating arrangement and a press box. there all his life. Funeral services were heid at 1:00 p.m. Sunday in the First Brethren Church, North Liberty, with Rev. Stephen Cole, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery.
