Mr. and Mrs. Dean Knowlton returned home from a trip to Duluth. Minnesota, the last of May. In Duluth they visited with their son. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Knowlton and family. On Sunday afternoon of this week, they attend ed an open house in South Bend for their granddaughter. Gwen McDonell. who was a graduate of North I ibertv High Schixil which is part of the South Bend Communitv School Corporation. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rensberger attended the Ward family reunion which was held on Sunday in the Community Building. Walkerton Mr. and Mrs. John Wells attended the graduation of their grandson. Jerry Malstaff. from LaPorte High School on Thursdav evening. June 2. Jerry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Malstaff. An open house was held on Sunday afternoon in his honor at his parents home with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Williams and son. Mrs. Penny Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn. Mrs. Mamie Hahn. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Malstaff and family. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Malstaff and daughter and Mrs. John Wells, of Walkerton and Mrs. Pauline Farrar and grandson, of Bremen, attending. Mr. and Mrs. James Morrey returned to their Koontz Lake home last week after spending the winter in their home in Fedham, Florida. Wawasee to visit with Mrs. Fred Riggs. Mrs. Jacob attended a swim meet in Valparaiso. Mrs. Jacob and Mrs. Terry Edison teach swimming classes at the YMCA in South Bend. The Walkerton High School ( lass of 1952. being the 25 class, was honored last Saturday evening at the Alumni Banquet with 18 members out of the 25 present. The class had a get-together in the afternoon at the American Legion Hall to renew acquaintances and recall old memories. Those from away that were present were Joe Flynn, of Tucson. Arizona; Connie Lawrence Ikins. of Lafayette; Rose Campbell Zellers, of Goshen; David Ball, of Columbia City; Mary Place Godfrey, of Indianapolis; Maxine Williams Hostetler, of Bremen; Jack Kost, of Plainfield; Arlene Knowlton Heim and Carol Kennedy Moon, of South Bend with the remaining eight from Walkerton. Mrs. David Ball was also a guest. In the afternoon a former member of the class. Shirley Hershberger Hazel called long distance from Port Orchard, Washington, to talk to many of her classmates. The graduating class of 1943 had a get-together meeting in the afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Denslow Doll. Those present were from the immediate area. Mrs. Grant Bellinger and her mother. Mrs. Vickie McCann, were in Lowell, Indiana, Friday to attend the funeral services of Mrs. McCann's sister. Mrs. Robert Decker. Mrs. Chester Thayer has spent
the past twe weeks in Mishawaka with her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Donal Teter. Mrs. Betty Germain is a medical patient in the Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend, where whe was taken late on Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schogren will serve as hosts on Saturday evening for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club carry-in dinner at the club house with a social hour to follow. Mrs. Gene Whitteberry returned to her home Saturday from the LaPorte Hospital following surgery. Harold Sheaks is a medical patient in the St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. John Bellinger, Walnut Road, held an open house on Sunday for their son Greg, upon his graduation from LaPorte High School. Graduation exercises were held on Thursday. June 2. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch spent the week end with her sister. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Hathaway, in Pentwater. Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. George Pfeiffer, of Koontz Lake, have returned from an air. land and sea trip to Greece and Turkey, where they visited many ancient ruins, some of which they remembered when they studied ancient history in school. So far they have excavated about 20 per cent and they find that much of it disintegrates when the air hits it. Greece and Turkey are beautiful mountainous countries. We saw the Bazaar in Instalbul where there are 4.000 stores and shops under one roof. After seeing and enjoying the sights, we agreed there is nothing to compare with our American food and our way of life. There just is nothing to compare with our Good U.S.A. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Baker and Paul returned Thursday night from a trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota. Paul Powers, of the Lincoln Terrace Apartments, returned lasi week from a ten day trip to Florida. Time was spent at Venice. Orlanda and Daytona Beach. Mr. and Mrs. John Solmos were in Indianapolis Saturday and Sunday to visit with their son. Mr. and Mrs. David Solmos and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dixon spent last week in Jeffersonville, Indiana, visiting with her mother, Mrs. Ethel Sweeney. Mr. and Mrs. John Bussie, of May port, Florida, came this week to spend several days with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Hunt. Mr. Bussie is in the Navy and will be stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Base for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kuklinski toured by bus for four days with the Senior Citizens of Marshall County to Nashville. Tennessee, to see the
Grand Ole Opera. They enjoyed the tour very much. Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fitzgerald was Mrs. Charles Summers, of Shelby, North Carolina. Mrs. Summers was a member of the Class of 1925 of Walkerton High School and they were celebrating their 50th alumni meeting on Saturday. She is the former Gladys Stiles. She spent several days here visiting with friends in the Walkerton-Tyner area. Mr. Delbert Whitaker, Grapevine. Lcxas. flew in Thursday to attend his class alumni meeting at Oregon-Davis. While here he stayed in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig. He left for home on Sunday. GRADUATES Bruce E. Day huff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dayhuff. 106 Clark Street, Walkerton, was among the 1977 class of graduates from TriState University. Angola, Indiana, who participated in the spring commencement on Saturday. May 21. Bruce is a graduate of John Glenn High School and he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.
