Following graduation on June 5 Mr. and Mrs. Ray Albright’s home was opened in honor of Bryan, their son. who was among the graduates of North Liberty High School. Refreshments were served to many friends and relatives from Ohio. Kokomo. Anderson. Walkerton and South Bend. Brvan has been accepted at the Lincoln Tech Institute in Indianapolis, and he will leave on June 12 to start the 13th taking his course in automotive and diesel. Mrs. Irene Singleton is home from Unity Hospital. Buchanan. Michigan, where she underwent surgery on her foot. She got along
very well. Mrs. Mae McDaniel, of Archabald. Ohio, with two granddaughters. Evie and Lyda Grisier. called on Mrs. Francis McDaniel while in town for the graduation of her nephew. Bryan Albright. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Schlemmer held open house on Sunday in honor of their daughter, Kay, who graduated from North Liberty High School. About 85 people came to extend their congratulations to Kay and then enjoyed a buffet luncheon with cake and punch. Those at the house came from South Bend, Mishawaka. North Liberty. Walkerton, LaPaz, Lakeville, Bremen, Goshen and Crown Point. Miss Mary Ann Peterson spent the week end in Dearborn. Michigan. visiting her brother Earl Peterson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Klopfenstein held open house immediately following graduation on Sunday for Lori. There were 83 guests, friends, neighbors and relatives present. The refreshment table was centered with a tree holding shrimp and fruit kabobs. Lori leaves for the Army on July 6 going to Ft. McClellan, Alabama. An open house in honor of Christopher and Janelle Jaworski was held Sunday afternoon in the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Natthew Jawarski. Chris and Janelle earlier that day graduated from North Liberty High School. Chris who has attended IUSB since January 1976, will be returning there in the fall. Janelle, who completed her high school work in three years, will also attend IUSB in the fall. Refreshments were served to approximately 150 relatives and friends and was greatly enjoyed by all. Mrs. Janell Hammaker, of Leesburg; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Elam Howell, of Mishawaka, were callers of Mrs. Effie Hammakcr over the week end. Immediately following graduation on Sunday the Wilcox home was opened to friends, family and faculty in honor of their son. John Edwin Wilcox. The refreshment table was centered with white and green carnations and ivy arrangement. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Harold Oshry, Noblesville. sister of John; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin A. Penick, of Hamilton. grandparents; others were from Plymouth. Mishawaka, South Bend. Walkerton and Muncie. Indiana and Finley, Ohio. John has been accepted at Butler University. Indianapolis, for the fall term. Mrs. Gladys Summers, of Shelby, North Carolina, was a guest of Mrs. Mae Packer for lunch on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mortakis held open house in honor of their daughter. Karen, on Sunday. June 5 following graduation from North Liberty High School. The refreshment table was beautifully centered with an arrangement of mums and poppies. Mrs. Vesta DeCoudres helped with the decorations. Attending were many friends and relatives including John, her brother, and his friend, John Rittley, both of Fort Sills. Oklahoma. Karen has been accepted into Taylor University for the fall term. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holderread and grandson. Jason, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Holderread, Mrs. Mae Clark. Mrs. Lillian Peterson. Mrs. Anna Stycker and Tom Peterson attended the Schroll family reunion at the Paul Wolfe home in LaPorte. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Groves, 201 Michigan Street. Walkerton, are the parents of a son born on May 29 in the Osteopathic Hospital. South Bend. A daughter. Holly Lynn, was born on June 1 to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Clark, route 1, box 22. Walkerton. in the Osteopathic Hospital. South Bend. She weighed in at eight pounds and four ounces.
