The elected and appointed officers entered the assembly room, each carrying a long stemmed yellow carnation. Miss Pavey was given her obligation by her father. As she remained at the altar, the soloist sang “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” She was escorted to her station in the East by her brother Master Wesley Pavey, and given grand honors. Her mother presented her the gavel, used by Mrs. Pavey when she served as Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. Also installed were Tammy Whittebcrry. As Miss Pavey assumed her obligation as Worthy Advisor in the East she explained her motto. “Have Faith In Today, Hope For The Future and Love Forever"; Watchwords, Faith. Hope and Love; colors, yellow, light green and white; symbols, the Rainbow of Hope and baskets of flowers; flower, the yellow rose and her chosen song. “Over The Rainbow". Mr. and Mrs. Pavey were presented behind the altar, greeted by
Mashelle and the soloist sang "This Is My Song". They were taken to the East where Mashelle presented them with a gift. Master Wesley was also honored with a gift from his sister. Mother Advisor. Mrs. Erickson, pinned a yellow rosebud corsage on Mashelle. from her assembly. Mashelle introduced her family present including her two grandmothers. Miss Nancy Peterson. Worthy Advisor Junior Past, relented her Worthy Advisor's pin to Mashelle and received a Past Worthy Advisor's pin. Nancy was then taken by Mashelle on the traditional memory walk, through the top officers and the color stations. Each girl reminded Nancy with a verse of important events in her lifetime, and deposited in the basket she carried, a momento. As Nancy knelt at the altar to sign the memory page in the Bible, the soloist sang "If. Mashelle thanked all who made her evening one of beauty, remembering her installating officer, the Masonic escorts, Robert Candler, Daniel Denaut. William Elkin, Russell Lawrence and Robert Wagner. Attending her guest book. Vickey Pavey and Monique Pavey; chairs and lights. Randy and Brett Candler. Also her refreshment committee. Mrs. Robert Candley and Mrs. Lyle Roush and the servers. Miss Crystal Clemons and Miss Jean Scott. The soloist sang "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You". Rev. Robert Bowman, former pastor of the Walkerton Presbyterian Church in Walkerton, gave the benediction. followed by the Rainbowdosing prayer song. Cake, coffee and punch was served following the installation.

A fountain, topped by a white tiered cake, centered the serving table. The tables were centered with large pompoms in yellow and green. Initiation Ceremony Held Thursday The Epsilon Chi chapter of Tri Kappa met Thursday, June 2 at the Walkerton United Methodist Church. An initiation ceremony was conducted for Miss Lynn Carter. Mrs. Eileen Clark, Mrs. Terry Edison. Mrs. Harold Rizek, Mrs. Gary Shields and Mrs. John Vandall. Following the ceremony a delicious salad bar was served by the United Methodist Women. Prior to the business meeting, Mrs. Bryce Rohrer installed the following officers for the coming year: President, Miss Linda Huhnke; Vice-President, Mrs. Donald Asch liman; Recording Secretary, Mrs. James Seiders; Corresponding Secretary. Mrs. Leo Mahoney, Scholarship Committee chairman, announced the selection of honor students and scholarship recipients. Honor stu dents from the Urey Middle School were Tonya Boise and Grant Walmoth. John Glenn High School scholarship winners were Jerry Johnson, Marjorie Eiler Scholarship. and Donna Robison, Elizabeth Orcutt Scholarship. Mrs. Lee DeLand reported on the success of the After Prom Party. She commented on the cooperation of the local merchants and organizations in donating door prizes and funds to help defray expenses.
