School, as the new varsity basketball coach replacing Mike Jones, who resigned this spring. McNeil graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1967 where he earned nine varsity letters in football. basketball and track. In 1967, he was voted to the All-C onference. All-Sectional, and All-Regional teams. Following high school graduation, he attended Valparaiso University where he played four years of basketball. During his sophomore and junior year he played for Gene Bartow, who is presently the head basketball coach at UCLA. After graduation from Valparaiso University in 1971. he coached the B-Team at North Newton High School for five years. McNeil will retain his present position as administrative assistant and athletic director at the high school for next year.
