NLHS Athletes Two From JG And Cheerleaders To Play On To Be Honored All-Star Team
Ihe North l iberty High School athletes and cheerleaders will be honored at a carry-in dinner on Tuesday. May 31. in the high school gymnasium beginning at r>:3o p.m. Both boys and girl athletes will be honored. Due to the tvpe of program and the large number of athletes involved, the school requests the limitation of attendance to parents and fans along with students both junior high and high school age. Mr. Phil Eskew, retired Commissioner of the Indiana High School Athletic Association will be the featured speaker for the program. Special athletic awards for the entire year will be presented. Ihe dinner is being sponsored jointly by the Sports Booster Club and the high school athletic department. All players, managers and cheerleaders are especially urged to attend even though parents might not be able to do so. Milk, coffee, tea. rolls and butter will be furnished. All other items are to be on a carry in basis. It is suggested that chicken, meat loaf or ham be taken if possible. It is requested that at least two covered dishes and your own table service be taken to the banquet. Beagles, in his attempt to rescue Northam, also beame electrocuted and he stopped breathing at the scene but was re vived. Ihe pair work for Sheeting Sen ice Co.. South Bend, and were at the construction site at the Adams Central School. Monroe. Indiana, in Adams County. Fhey both were in critical condition and now Beagles is listed in serious condition and Northam in fair condition HAMLET ALUMNI TO MEET The Hamlet Alumni Assixiation dinner and dance will be held on May 28 at the American Legion Post Home. Sponsors of the contest are the Winamac Kiwanis and Rotary (lub. Graduating seniors from 12 area high schools will participate. Ihe North squad is composed of Barry Heim and Jerry Johnson. LaCrosse, and Tom Lewis, South Central, will coach the North squad, while Ed Lucas. Pioneer, and Gene Miller, Kankakee Valley, will coach the South squad. PROGRAMS PLANNED AT R.E.A.L. SERVICES CENTER Ihe North Liberty High School chorus will present a program at the REAL Services Center. North Liberty Community Building, on Wednesday. May 25 for those present. Reservations for the dinners must be made a day in advance by calling 656-3353. The dinners are served to those Senior Citizens 60 wars old or older Monday through Friday at the center. Ihe weekly menu appears elsewhere in this paper. Also on June 8 the Senior Citizens band will play for the entertainment on that day following the meal at the Center. CLUB CLOSES SEASON FRIDAY, MAY 20 A carry-in salad bar scheduled for 12:30 p.m.. a business meeting and annual reports will signal the close of the Woman’s Community Club on Friday. Mav 20. Members are reminded to bring a salad of their choice and place setting for self and guest. N.L.H.S. AND GREENE ALUMNI TO MEET Ihe annual dinner-dance alumni banquet for North Liberty and Greene alumni will be held on June 11 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Church grounds, located at 59520 Kena. South Bend. The committee of this year's banquet includes Cecil Klopfenstein, Dale Knwpp. Diana Heim and Roberta Kill. You may contact anv of them for reservations. The dinner is te begin at 6:30 p.m.. dancing at 9:30 to the Bill Henry orchestra. WHS Alumni Banquet Set For June 4 The Walkerton High School an nual alumni banquet is set for Saturday. June 4 at St. Patrick's School Hall with registration beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be at 7:00p.m.
