Six soloists have been named to sing with the Walkerton area community choir when it presents John Peterson's cantata. “Love and Kindness." The performance, which will be directed by the noted composer himself, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Mary 17. in the John Glenn High School gym. Soloists include Sharon Klinedinst, Lois Ross. Jeanie Jimmerson. Sherrill Kickbush. Madelyn Nelson and Glenn Jacob. Thcv were selected by a panel of judges at tryouts held April 24 at the United Methodist Church. Walkerton. Judges were Mrs. Marilyn Lightfoot, Walkerton Elementary School principal, former music teacher and an active member in the music program at Sunrice Chapel in Plymouth; and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Habegger, of South Bend. Habegger. a music teacher at Clay High School, is choir director of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. South Bend. Mrs. Habegger serves as the church organist. The community choir is comprised mainly of members of four area church choirs — Walkerton United

There will be no admission charge to the cantata, however an offering will be received to help cover expenses. LINCOLN TWP. 4-H NEWS The April 4-H meeting of the Lincoln Township Club was held on Tuesday. April 19 at the Walkerton Community Building. Mashellc Pavey, president, opened the meeting with the pledge to the American and 4-H flags. Discussion w as open for ideas on money making projects and it was decided to sell stationary in the near future. A skating party is planned in June and the date will be announced at a later meeting. Election of officers followed with Mashellc Pavey, president: Phil Knowlton, vice president; and Gerald Hahn, secretary-treasurer for the 1977 year.
