Mrs. Myrtle Mutchler returned home by plane on Wednesday of last week after having spent three months with her sisters, Mrs. Verda Heim and Mrs. ha Cotton, in St Petersburg. Florida Mr and Mrs. Louis Anderson returned last week from spending the winter months in Palm Harbor. Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Keck and daughter Andrea, of Teegarden. flew to Engelwood. Florida, leasing on Wednesdas. March .V). Robbie and Sue plan to visit a few days with Robbie s grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Millard Lemert. also of Teegarden. They will return by auto along with the Lcmerts this week. Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Evclvn Lawrence were Mrs. William llkins and family. Karen. Lisa and Nancy Randall, of Lafayette, and Mrs. Myrtle Mutchler. Walter Pickavet, Sr., is a medical patient in the LaPorte Hospital. Mrs. Louts Houser entered Memorial Hospital. South Bend, on Friday. April 1. Mrs. Clarence Hopper, formerly of Walkerton, now of New Carlisle, is a medical patient in the Porter Memorial Hospital. Valparaiso. Her sons. Robert, of California and Bill, of South Carolina, were called here as well as her brother. Robert Cripe, of California. Stanley Hostetter. Walkerton, underwent surgery last week in the LaPorte Hospital. Saturdav Mrs. Robert L'rbin and Mrs. Bertha Urbin called on Dr. and Mrs. John Guttman in Wakarusa. The open house held Saturday evening for the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jolly Back was given by their children with a buffet meal served with two beautifully decorated cakes to KM) guests. Those from out of town attending were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Koontz, of Union Town. Pennsylvania; Rev. and Mrs. Leonard Jackson, of Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. John Tunis. Mr. and Mrs. John Mann. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gemons and family, all of Knox; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Owen, of North Judson; Mr. and Mrs. Costello Back, of LaPorte; and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wilson, of Sawver. Michigan. Milner, of C hicago, were here Friday to visit Mrs. J. C. Milner, of the 76 Apartments. Mrs. Mamie Hahn entertained Sunday for a pre-Easter dinner with a family gathering. An Easter egg hunt was enjoyed in the yard in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Garab and family, of South Bend, were Sunday dinner guests with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Garab. Miss Marla Garab remained here with her grandparents for a few days during the Easter vacation. There will be no Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner this Saturday evening because of the Easter holidays. The wedding of Miss Sandra Kay Schamer and Joseph A. Pond Jr., of Chicago, was solemnized Saturdav afternoon in the Saint Gement’s Catholic Church in Chicago. Those attending from Koontz Lake were her parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Schamer. her grandmother. Mrs. Susie Schamer. Mrs. C. L. Lawrence and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bow les. Mrs. Charles Shogren and Mrs. Helen Smith, both of Koontz Lake, came home Monday from a week
end visit with relatives. Mrs. Shogren visited in Mt. Greenwood, which is a suburb of Chicago, and also in Benton, Illinois, in the southern part of the state. Mrs. Smith stopped in Crestwood. Illinois. to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Smith and family. Sunday dinner guests of Ina Walz were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Walz and Mrs. Garland Lawrence. Mrs. Edith Baumgardner, of Milford, and Mr. and Mrs. William Phebus. of South Bend, will be guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside this Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. William Kechn an daughter Lori, were here last week to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Elder and their granddaughter, Amy Absher, of Merrillville, Indiana, is here this week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Elder. The Keehns are from California. Mrs. Kronk entertained Sunday at dinner for her husband Calvin's birthday, and her grandson. Jeff Kronk’s birthday. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kronk. Debi and Tedd, Mr. and Mrs. George Henry and Evan. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Limerick and Joel, all of North Liberty; Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Kronk and Kimberly and LaDora. of Walkerton; and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fair, of Lakeville. They also were celebrating the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Fair. Guests recently of Mr. and Mrs. William Zlatos Sr., were Mr. and Mrs. William Zlatos Jr.. Indiana University. Bloomington. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch returned home on Tuesday evening of last week after spending the month of February in Arkansas and the month of March at Marco Island. Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Don Teter, of Mishawaka, came Sunday and took her mother. Mrs. Chester 1 haver, to visit Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pippinger. of Plymouth, and in the evening they stopped at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stoneburner as Palm Sunday supper guests. Mrs. Alex Kukltnski. of Koontz Lake, came home Sunday after spending some time in Glendale, Arizona, with her daughter. Mrs. Lavina Paris, who has been in the hospital.

Mr. Rex Masterman, of Concord, North Carolina, surprised his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman, last Wednesday evening when he stopped in to spend the night with them. On Saturday afternoon, Miss Laura and Mrs. Mark Shultz and Byron Zimmerman, of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, came to visit their grandparents. On Monday Mrs. Fred Schultz and daughter. Stacy, of Cedarburg, came to stay four days with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cole and son Richie and Richard Moore enjoyed the week end with Bob Cole and Donna Moore, at Ball State University. Muncie. Indiana. On Saturday afternoon some attended a volleyball game while the rest toured the campus and did some shopping. A smorgasbord dinner topped with a birthday cake for Mr. Beaty, was enjoyed in the evening. On Sunday they drove to Oxford, Ohio, to sec the campus where Mrs. Beaty had attended college, then on to Metamora and the Whitewater canal and old time shops. Later they stopped at the Brookville Dam and lake which is the deepest lake in Indiana and very beautiful. The last stop was a Decatur. Indiana for a smorgasbord dinner at the Back Forty, after which Bob and Donna headed back

to school and the rest for Walkerton having had a lovely family trip. TRAVELOGUE GROUP MEETS Monday evening some of the Travelogue group from Walkerton met at the Golden Bear in South Bend for a chicken dinner in honor of Mr. Leonard Beaty’s birthday. A birthday cake baked by Mrs. Beaty was served for dessert. Those attending were Mrs. Frank Hahn. Mrs. Nora Hahn, Mrs. Esther Kauffman, Mr. and Mrs. Warner Clark. Mr. Ai Brenner.
