A birthday dinner was held for Randy Vcrklcr on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Verkier and Mrs. Richard Verkier and Scott. Other guests were Mrs. Randy Vcrklcr. Brett and Bryan; Mr. and Mrs. James Vcrklcr and Miss Chris Jones. North Liberty. Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Burnside, of South Bend, were Tuesday evening dinner guests of his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside. Mr. and Mrs. John South and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lute along with a group from LaPaz and Bremen flew to Reno. Nevada, last week for a bowling tournament. Mr. and Mrs. South and Mr. and Mrs. Lute stayed for the week while Johnny and Kevin South stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erdelyi. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kauffman and Mrs. Melba Arney, of Fish Lake and Mrs. Esther Kauffman were in Hammond Saturday to call on Mrs. Irene Hack, a Fish Lake resident, but is in Hammond recovering from an accident. Mrs. Arney spent the afternoon with her sister, Mrs. Irene Green, in Lansing. Indiana, while the Kauffmans went to East Gary to visit w ith Mrs. Carol Epperson and family with a birthday dinner being enjoyed in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Brant entertained Sunday evening with a birthday dinner for their twin daughters. Mrs. Joseph Lowrv and Mrs. Jerry Weigand. Other guests were the Lowrv and Wiegand families. On Saturday they were noon dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Peer and George Matz, in South Bend. Miss Linda Matz was also a guest of the Peers. Mr. and Mrs. Don Teter, of Mishawaka and her mother. Mrs. Chester Thayer were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Pippinger. of Plvmouth. They were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stoneburner. Mr. Lyle Rensberger. of Roann, came on Monday to visit with his parents. Mr. and Mrs Harold Rensberger. Mr and Mrs. Leroy Smith came home on Monday evening from a three week vacation in Florida. This year most of their time was spent in the central part of Florida having seen most of the coast lines in other years. While traveling over the country they saw most of the W'alkerton folks that have spent the winter in Florida and Dr. and Mrs. V. B. Wolfe. Also they spent

some time with Mr and Mrs. Lester Btcrly who were also in Flor ida vacationing.
