The prospective bridegroom graduated from John Glenn High School in 1974 and is presently attending Purdue University in West I afayette and will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. A September 16 wedding is being planned. RAINBOW NEWS Nancy Peterson. Worthy Advisor of Walkerton Rainbow Assembly 64 presided at the second meeting of her term. Monday night. February 28 During the business meeting, Dawn Seinke was installed as Immortality. Several projects were discussed. The girls voted on canvassing the town of Walkerton on March 12 and 13 to help the Muscular Dystrophy Drive. The girls did this last year and were tenth in the state of all Rainbow Assemblies in their collections. They ask that the residents again help this year to be in the top ten again. They also are helping the Walkerton Nursing Home residents with their Rock-A-Thon to be held Thursday. March 17. The money from this project will go to the Ambulance Fund which will be badly needed by Walkerton within another year. Pledges will be $2.00 per hour. $1 00 per half hour and 50 cents per 15 minutes. Let’s all get in there and pitch for the Walkerton Ambulance, and let the W'alkerton Nursing Home residents nxk to their hearts content. Nancy Peterson and Mashelle Pavcy met with their candy teams and discussed the completion of the candy sales. The money from the candy goes toward their annual Grand Assembly which will be held in June of this year. Please help these girls with their projects. Guests present were Al Drews. NEWS Worthy Matron of OES No. 319, Mrs Pat Whitaker, presided at the last meeting of her term. Tuesday evening. March 1. She greeted her officers, members and guest with a poem. "My Year." The secretary, treasurer and ways and means chairman gave their yearly reports, finalized by
the auditing committee report. The chapter agreed it had been a very gcxvd year. Being Advance Night, the conductress escorted Mrs. Becky Reed. Worthy Matron elect to the East. The organist-soloist, Mrs. Kenneth Klincdinst, sang, "My Best To You." The Worthy Matron then introduced Mrs. Reed to the chapter. The Worthy Patron elect. Jasper Elkin, was escorted to the East and introduced by the Worthy Patron William Elkin. Worthy Matron elect Becky asked Worthy Matron Pat. if she would help her search for something called. "The Truth." Pat said yes and was then escorted to the various truth links, such as the grapevine, telephone, coffee chats and good ole gossip lines. Everyone learned the truth about Pat, that she was a good worker, a great Worthy Matron and was loved by all. The soloist then sang, "Too Wonderful For Words," and "Wish Upon A Star." The conductress presented Pat and Bill with a plaque and gift from the chapter. In thanking her officers for her year as Worthy Matron, Pat read a poem entitled, "You Gave Me My Song." Chapter closed in regular form and all retired to the social room which was decorated in a patriotic theme. Refreshments were served by the Worthy Matron and Patron. The public installation for Becky Reed and her officers will be held on March 5 at 8 p.m. at the Walkerton Temple. ON TOUR Karen Donathcn. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Donathen. of North Liberty, is presently on tour with Schola Cantorum. a Valparaiso University 54 voice chorus. Directed bv Dr. Frederick H. Tels*.how, the group will make fifteen appearances during the eleven day trip through Michigan. Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Friday, March 25. they will give a home performance in the Chapel of the Resurrection on campus.
