SHAMROCKS FRESHMEN DEFEAT KNOX The North Liberty Shamrock freshman basketball team handed Knox a loss sc hen the Shamrocks insaded Redskin country on February 8. The young Shamrocks won bs a score of 51-30 with Jeff Martin scoring 22 points and John Gouker tossing in 12 points, in less than three quarters. North Liberty dominated the knox team in both offense and defense handing the Redskins their 12th loss. Quarter scores were 13-2. 2b-10. 42-IM and 51.30. The resenes defeated the Knox reserves 52-33 with Jim Nace scoring 29 punts. Brian Donathan eight punts and Dave Hartsough six punts. Larry Dionnor. Chris Lemert and Scott Pinkowski played a nice floor game. The resenes record is 4-2. NORTH LIBERTY TOPS LAVILLE The North Liberty freshman basketball team on Monday night. February 14. defeated LaVille .3920. Ihe score was lb-5 at halftime in favor of the Shamrocks. Score bv quarters was 8-3. 15-5, 28-14 and 39-20. A balanced scoring attack led by Ron Price with eight p>ints. John Gouker and Mark VandcrHagen each having six punts helped in the win. Ten of the 12 players scored. The team record is now 14-2. The reserves also won for North Liberty by a score of 34-30 in an extra two periods. Larry O'Connor and Dave Hartsough scored eight and seven punts respectively. All six of the boys scored.
