Mr. and Mrs. Bowers also attended the Marv Herzog dance at St. Joe Kickers Club, Berrien Springs, Michigan, on Saturday night. Marv Herzog and Polka Band were guests of the Bowers Friday night and Saturday night along with two daughters of Mr. Herzog, Heidi and Lisa. Also Dawn Sundin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Sundin, Holland. Michigan, was a Friday night guest. Saturday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Don Sundin and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Porth, of Muskegon. Michigan. In the spring a trip is planned to Hawaii and an annual tour to Europe in the late summer. Currently planned is an eight day trip to Europe in September of 1977 and a 15-day trip in September of 1978. Walkerton Overnight guests Friday of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Murphy were Mr. and Mrs. James Murphy, of Evergreen Park. Illinois, who were
on their way home from a cold vacation in Florida. On Saturday the Murphy's were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Tesch, in Mishawaka. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Murphy spent Sunday in Fort Wayne visiting w ith friends. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Brinkhoff, New Road and Mr. and Mrs. John Harbaugh. State Road 23. North Liberty, returned home on Friday after spending two weeks vacationing in the Hawaiian Islands. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Reed, Mr. and Mrs. James Reed and Mrs. Pearl McConnell attended the inauguration of President Jimmy Carter on Friday. January 21, in Washington. D.C. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Reed attended the lunaugural ball held at the Mayflower Hotel and the rest of the party attended a different ball at which the President and Mrs. Carter and Amy appeared, Mrs. Robert Schaeffer was in LaPortc on Friday evening to visit her mother, Mrs. Edith Ulery, and daughter Joan. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Malstaff. of Union Mills, were Sunday afternoon visitors of Miss Ethel Bierlv. Mrs. Rachel Barthel, of LaPortc, visited Mrs. Esther Kaufman Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Cora Betz, who has been hospitalized since December 9 with a broken leg from a fall in her home, is now at the home of her son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Betz and welcomes any visitors who might want to call on her. Mr. and Mrs. William Phcbus. of South Bend, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside. Mr. and Mrs. John Solmos came home Friday evening from a two week vacation in Florida. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Devon Wolff at Kissimmee, for a few days, and at Orlando. Mr. and Mrs. Burgoone Carnes, of Raleigh, North Carolina, came to spend the week end with them. The latter ladies are sisters.
