AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY PLANS PARTY The American Legion Auxiliary of Orville Easterday Unit #lB9 met in the Post Home on November 2 for their regular meeting. Plans were made for the Legion and Auxiliary family Christmas party to be held on Tuesday. December 14. A pot luck supper will begin promptly at 6:30. Arrangements have been made to have a special visit by Santa Claus. Each family should bring a covered dish, their own table service and a small gift for each child which Santa will distribute. Mrs. Amybelle Wardman presented an engraved plaque to the Unit which she had received from the National Auxiliary. The award was for an outstanding Americanism report submitted by Mrs. Wardman for the year 1975-1976. This is the first time in the local Unit that such an award has been received. Consecutive year membership cards were presented at the meet-

ing and recognition was given to Weltha Burnside and Dorothy Flaugher for 45 years and Irene Murray for 50 years membership. These ladies have continued their membership and service to the Auxiliary. In doing so they have greatly added to the programs of Americanism. Child Welfare, and Veterans Rehabilitation. Each dollar given in Unit dues is reinvested in the disabled veterans and their families. It was announced that the Department Legion Commander had accepted an invitation to be the speaker at the Legion Birthday Party on March 5. Mrs. Wardman explained several of the new additions to the United State flag code. Included were: 1. It is now proper to fly the flag in inclement weather — providing the flag is serviceable to the weather. 2. It is now correct to give a hand over heart salute while singing the National Anthem.
