Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Rose. Sr.. North Liberty, will observe their 25th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. December 29. Thev were married in 1951 in Hernando. Mississippi and live at 204 N. Mam Street. The Roses have four children of their own and five children from former marriages NORTH LIBERTY Charles VanderHagen was surprised on his birthday Sunday evening at the home of Effie Hammaker. Guests were his son and Jamils. the Ru hard \ anderHagens. Kim. Mark and Kaths. John Kaser was also a guest His sister and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. I rank VanDeViere. his sister Eldie VanDeSamplc. his nephew and ssde. Mr anil Mrs. ( harles VanDeSample. all of South Bend, were also present Ice cream and cake was served (harles received mans nice gifts and he wants to thank all his mans friends for all his birthdas cards. Mr and Mrs Claude Schrader returned to their home in Ormond Beach. Honda, after visiting his father Albert Schrader, and other relatives Mrs. Robert Gravkowski. of Niles. Mrs. Gertrude Sheneman was a Monday dinner guest of Mrs. May Clark. Clyde. Jill and Donna Steele called on Mrs. Hdith Steele Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Ethel Surguy. of Niles. Michigan, spent several days with Mrs. Evelyn Sthephenson. Mr. and Mrs. George Krueger were Sunday evening luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Newland and family in South Bend. Mrs. Erank Criniti and children, of Chicago; Mrs. Timothy Baughman and children, of Bloomington; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Snyder and son. of South Bend; and Mr. and Mrs. W'dliam Bowman, of Mishawaka. were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Snyder. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Craft and Brent, of South Bend, were Saturdav afternoon visitors of Mrs. Martha Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. James Livengood, ol South Bend, called on Nellie Smith Saturday forenoon. Mr. and Mrs Roy Reamschnydvr had lunch with his sister Mrs. Vera Shiv ley. Saturday evening at Knox. Monday-evening a good number of St. John s Luthern Church members attended open house at (he new home of Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Peterson and family, of Diamond Avenue. South Bend, light refreshments were served. An enjoyable evening was had by all. Rev. Peterson is minister of the St. John s Lutheran Church. As his golf ball rolled toward the cup. the dentist murmured. "Open wider. please."

Chief Don Brunette DRIFT-BREAKERS DISCUSS TORCH RIDE The North Liberty Drift-Breakers met at the Relax Inn. North Liberty, on December 1. with the discussion of the torch ride being held. The ride will take place the first gixxl snow on a Friday. Saturday or Sunday night. Bob Cline. Don Staley. Jim Snyder and Frank Sailer are in charge of the torches and they stated they were ready to go. Attention, your reservations for going north on our first trip should be made and paid for no later than December 15 to Mrs. A. M. Manuel. Joyce Knepp or Norma Patrick. Well gang, our think snow has paid off this year so far. We really have enjoyed our sleds so keep thinking snow. The club thanks the Relax Inn for letting us use their facilities for our meeting.
