Shamrocks Fall To Fairfield In NSC Game 16-8 The North Liberty Shamnxks returned to action Frida) night after an open date week end on their schedule and dropped a 16-8 decision to the Fairfield Falcons in a game placed on the Falcons field. The loss, the second in a row and their second in two conference games, evened the Green and White's record to 2-2 for the season with a big Friday date with archrival Glenn coming up. Snider opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 13 yard scamper for a touchdown and then also carried the ball in from the three for the two extra points. This gave the Falcons a lead they never lost. Fairfield scored twice in the second pernxi. first on a safety as the Shamrocks' quarterback, Allen Seiner. was caught behind the goal line with Mark Baker getting credit for the safety in the end zone. 1 his not only put two points on the board, but the following free kick from the 20 gives good field position and the Falcons, still using the running of Snider to great advantage, moved down field on a sustained drive and took the ball in for the score with Snider carrying the final 4 yards. 1 his time the extra points were missed, but Fairlivid took the 16-0 lead into the dressing room at halftime. The second half was a different storv. However, the scoring for the night was over as the Falcons used just enough offense and plenty of defense to keep the Shamrocks at bay the rest of the way.
