Mrs. Williams’ guest. Mrs. Phil Henderson. Indianapolis. a former resident of Owensville, was also present. Mr. ami Mrs Eldon Lewis, of Huntington. Indiana, visited the Calvin Kronkson Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kronk. Debi and Tedd. were supper guests on Sunday of the Calvin Kronks. Mrs. William DePoy was in Indianapolis on Monday to visit her mother. Mrs. Edith Daniels. Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig returned home An Monday after a week end visit to Upper Sandusky. Ohio, with Mr. and Mrs. Roger Williams and family. Mrs. Jake Powell and daughter, Jane, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, spent the week end in Walkerton visiting friends and making their headquarters at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Awald. Saturday they attended the Notre Dame - Purdue football game in South Bend. Mrs. Al Drews is a patient in the Osteopthie Hospital. South Bend. Mrs. Everett Baker. Mrs. Emma Zigler and Mrs. Floyd Bellinger are patients in the LaPorte Hospital. Monday Mrs. Herman Henry and Mrs. Leonard Blad, of North Liberty, were afternoon visitors with Mrs. Martin Blad in South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Jon Smith are the parents of a daughter. Trade Lee. born September 16. in the LaPorte Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Karnopp. of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Viste, of Algoma. at the home of Mrs. Mamie Hahn on Friday at 1:30. Mrs. Fern Kemp and Miss Ethel Bierly attended the retired teachers meeting held last Thursday afternoon in North Judson. On their wav home they stopped in Union Mills to visit w ith Mrs. Morris Malstaff. Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Burnside. Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Burnside. Mr. Larry Burnside and Miss Mary Lippelt. all of South Bend and Mrs. Edith Baumgartner, of Milford. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. George Pfeiffer were in Glen Park, Indiana, to attend the funeral service of Mr. Pfeiffer's older sister. From there they went to Crete. Illinois, to visit with Rev. Thomas Lineweaver, a former pastor of their church and he was the minister that performed their marriage ceremony years ago. Kim and Robin Betz, of North Liberty, were at Chain-Of-Lakes State Park near Albion from Friday through Sunday camping. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pogodzinakr were in Knox Sunday evening to attend a dinner party given by their daughter and husband. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wisner, for their son. Tommy and daughter. Joy. Florida, arrived last week for a visit with relatives and they arc staying in the home of his sister, Mrs. Glen Walz. Dr. and Mrs. Wolfe will be leaving on Sunday to attend the Supreme Council of Scottish Rite of Free Masonary, Northern Jurisdiction, in Milwakee. GEORGE MATZ HONORED Mr. George Matz was pleasantly surprised on Saturday evening by a dinner party hosted by the Ed Klopfensteins for his 87th birthday. First Fall Meeting Os B & P Women Thirty-five members and two guests. Ruby Eldridge. Walkerton, and Marjorie (Dunn) Rook, of Riverside. Illinois, enjoyed a carry-in supper meeting at the Community Building of the Walkerton Business and Professional Women’s Cub Thursday, September 16. Beautiful garden flower arrangements centered the tables as club president, Mrs. William Elkin called the meeting to order for the Lord’s Prayer before eating. Mrs. Elkin greeted all with a poem, "Try Smiling." Mrs. Verda Kam. past-president, was presented a charm of gold by Mrs. Elkin from her officers and club members for a fine year of service. Mickie Wolfenbarger was informed that four cases of pecans meats should be ordered at once for the annual project of the club. At the October meeting members are asked to bring empty decorated gift boxes to be used at the Beaty Mental Hospital for their Christmas. Anyone wishing to give a gift of new clothing, cosmetics, etc., may bring it unwrapped. Sue Shields was appointed chairman for this project. Mrs. Irene Whitteberry received the door prize.
