Chet Bigler Jaycee State Office Holder Mi'J Chet Bigler, of Walkerton, was recently elected Internal Vice President of the Indiana Jaycees at the Javcees annual State Convention, held this year in Fort Wayne. This is the second highest office in the State organization. Mr. Bigler’s chief responsibility will be the supervision and assistance with the Individual Development and Chapter Management Programs for the 250 local Jaycees Chapters in Indiana. He will have 18 State Chairmen assisting him with programs for Indiana's 12.(XX) individual Jaycee members. Mr. Bigler has held many Jaycee offices, including president of the Walkerton Jaycees, State Speech chairman. Region II vice president and Region 11 National Director. He has received much recognition and numerous awards for his dedication and leadership within the Jaycee movement. He and his wife Jane reside near Walkerton, and he teaches social studies at Urev Middle School. Walkerton. OBITUARIES JUNIOR JACK MENEFEE Junior Jack Menefee, 51. of 28833 New Road. North Liberty, who was found dead about 5:30 p.m. on Friday. June 18. in a REAL Services van in the 200 block of W. Marion after apparently suffering a heart attack. He was a REAL Services van driver and employee having worked there since Nov. 1975. He was born on May 10. 1925, in Oakland. lowa, and had lived in this area 27 years. On June 9. 1951. in Jeffersonville. Indiana, he married Ann Lou Worthington, who survives along with four sons. Timothy, of Carpentersville. III.; and Terry. Tracy and Tory, all at home: two grandchildren; a brother. Phillip, of Shakopee, Minn.; and a sister, Mrs. Maxine Bloomquist, of Shakopee. Minn. Funeral services were held at I p m. on Monday in the A. M. Manuei Funeral Home. North Liberty. with Rev. Stephen Cole, pastor of the North Liberty First Brethren ( hurch. officiating. Burial followed in Westlawn Cemetarv. North Liberty. He was a World War II Navy veteran. EUGENE M. DOVE Funeral services for Eugene M. hive. 48. of 6t>B3() Tamarack, North I iberty. who was dead upon arrival at St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, at 5:50 p.m. Friday, after suffering a heart attack while working at a construction site near Mishawaka, were held at II a.m. Monday. June 21 in the North Liberty United Methodist Church with Rev. Gaylord Sahzgabvr. pastor, officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Graveside military services were conducted by members of the American Legion Post 365. North i.iberty of which he was a member. Dove was a Korean War veteran, a member of bxal 101. Cement Mason's Union; the 40 and 8; Post 1954, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was serving as 3rd District

adjudant of the Indiana American Legion. He was born on May 2, 1928. in North Liberty and had lived there his lifetime. On May 28, 1955, in Woodland. Indiana, he married Esther A. Platz, who survives along with a son. David, stationed with the U. S. Army at Ft. Carson. Colorado, and a brother, William, of North Liberty. FLORENCE S. ALWARD Mrs. Florence S. Alward, 79, of 27644 Indiana 23. North Liberty, died on Wednesday, June 16, at 5:45 p.m. in Memorial Hospital. South Bend, after a short illness. She was born on January 6, 1897, in Argos and she had lived in North Liberty 48 years coming from South Bend. Her husband. Elmer V. Alward. died in 1958. Survivors include a daughter. HOLLOWAY John (Jack) Holloway, 62, formerly of North Liberty and a resident of Lafayette. Indiana since 1969, died at 12:32 a.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette following a lengthy illness. He was a co-owner of the Ace Hardware in Lafayette, and formerly in the hardware business in North Liberty. He married Ava Burden, in New Carlisle in 1939.
