Walkerton Miss Kathy Butler. I.U. School of Music student, is here visiting with her aunt and uncle. Rev. and Mrs. William Hughes. Minnie Mikesell is in room 217 at St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka. Mrs. Louis Houser is in room 701 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hirer and sons, of Willard, Ohio, were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Henry, at Koontz Lake. Curt and Cari Cavin, of Kokomo, will be here to spend next week with the Henry’s while their mother is in the hospital. Mr. Rudolph Elder came home Saturday from a trip to Canada with a group of men from Highland, Indiana. They were at Sault Look Out, Canada, for fishing and he said it was unbelieveable how good the fishing was. He brought home some nice bass and walleye. They also have a guest in their home for a week, Miss Amy Absher, of Merrillville, Indiana, who is a granddaughter of the Elders. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Baker and family were in Richwood. Ohio, from Friday to Sunday visiting friends and relatives and to attend the Bicentennial parade, races and contests. Mr. Dewey Munger, of Los Angeles. California, is spending a couple of weeks here visiting his sister-in-law, Mrs. Ellen Brede, Koontz Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Awald and daughter and two granddaughters, of Kingsford. Texas, called on Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly, Friday evening. They are here to visit his mother, in Knox, and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Ruth Clark returned home recently from a month stay in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Clark. On Sunday of this week she was in South Bend for a birthday celebration for her sister, Mrs. Nellie Hoover who is 91 years old. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kennedy were in Lima, Ohio, Thursday through Saturday last week due to the death of his only brother. Mr. and Mrs. John Green, of Palis Hills, Illinois, spent a week here visiting Mr. and Mrs. James Morrey, of Koontz Lake. On Thursday afternoon Mrs. Morrey entertained eight ladies at bridge honoring her guest. Mrs. Emma Zigler is a patient in the LaPorte Hospital due to a fall which left her with a broken hip. Mrs. Zigler is reported making a very satisfactory recovery. Mrs. Zigler will be 98 years old in August. Mrs. Agnew Ludwig is a surgical patient in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday morning. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henry entertained with a picnic dinner at their home on the bank of their pond in a shaded area for the following guests. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Meridith, Mr. and Mrs. John Shupe. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gates and family, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gourley anil family. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dunham, of Lafayette, spent several days here this week with Mr. and Mrs. George Downs, Koontz Lake. The annual Thompson reunion was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Skinner with 55 in attendance. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Pat McNorton and daughters, Elkgrove Village, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson and family, of Joliet, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Myron Leßoy, of LaGrange, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Barden and son, of Valparaiso; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thompsop, of Indianapolis; Rev. and Mrs. Robert Divine and family, Winona Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Divine and Mrs. Ethel Palmiter, South Bend; Pvt. Duane Barden, Ft. Knox, Kentucky; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hostetler and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. David Hostetler, of Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler and family; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hostetler and daughter; Mr. Gordon Hostetler; Mrs. Viola Barden and family and Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn and family, of Walkerton. In the afternoon a graveside service was held in memory of Mr. William A. Leßoy, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Mr. Leßoy was a veteran of World War II and Ed Fenstermacher played taps for the service. Officers were elected as follows for the reunion next year which will be held the second Sunday of June at the same place, president, Herald Hostetler; sec.-treas., Viola Barden and Mr. Jim Hostetler is to take care of the pop. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson and family were Saturday night visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler and family and on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Pat McNorton and family were over night guests. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Webster will serve as hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club carry-in dinner this Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. in the club house. On Friday evening at 7:00 there will be the regular monthly business meeting for the club members at the club house. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Schuppert, of Greyslake, Illinois, were over Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Brehm. Their four children had been here for a week with their grandparents, the Brehms, and they came to take them home. Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith were Rev. Robert Divine, South Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Pat McNorton, Angie and Brenda Lee, of Elkgrove Village, Illinois; and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Leßoy, Lagrange, Illinois. Christine Barden stayed with her great uncle, Lloyd, while graveside services were held for William Leßoy at Woodlawn Cemetery. The Charles Kincaids, of Las Vegas, stopped in Walkerton to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Mac McNorton on their way home from a vacation in Washington, D.C., Niagra Falls and other places of interest. A family get together was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Kronk Sunday honoring Mr. and Mrs. LaMarr Kronk. who were celebrating their wedding anniver-
sary. Mr. Clyde Kronk, of Dade Citv. Florida, was also an honored guest. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. LaMarr Kronk, Kim and LaDora, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kronk, Jeff. Debi and Tedd, Mr. and Mrs. George Henry and Evan, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Limerick and Joel, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fair, Clyde Kronk, Dale and Maynard Blosser. Mr. and Mrs. Pat McNorton and family, of Eikgrove Village, Illinois, were visitors in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mac McNorton, over the week end. Mr. Harvey Stump, of Plymouth, Florida, and Mrs. Gern Troche, of Bremen, were Monday callers of Mrs. Orville Klinedinst. They also called on Mrs. Mabel Travis and Eilene. Mrs. Hazel Kaiser, of Three Oaks, Michigan, returned home last week after a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huhnke and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Baker. Mrs. Claude Watkins attended the graduation ceremonies of her grandson, Clifford A. Stevens, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Stevens, at Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana. Cliff received the following awards: DePauw’s Rector Scholarship, Latin Club Scholarship, Mathematical Association of America Award, Science Departmental Award, Mathematics Departmental Award. Cliff is a member of the National Honor Society and the Quill and Scroll. He was recognized by ‘‘Who’s Who in American High Schools” his junior and senior year in high school. He was a ' commended Student” as a result of his PSAT examinations taken in his junior year. Ciff plans to attend DePauw University in Greencastle. Also attending the graduation ceremonies were Cliffs paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lena Stevens, from Beaverton, Oregon; Jack Watkins, of Walkerton, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Watkins, of South Bend. Monday morning early Mrs. Charles Bandendistel’s visitors were her niece and husband, Roslyn and Lawrence Wessell and son Kevin, of Batesville, Indiana. They were in Chicago spending three days with their daughter and her husband who is in the service. Bloxon will also show slides of the Indians and the work they are doing on the reservation where he and his wife and family live. Rev. Bloxon, who attended Walkerton High School, is looking forward to seeing old friends and renewing old acquaintences.
