June 5. in the dining and social room of the St. Patrick's School with 124 in attendance. The dinner was prepared and served by the Walkerton Order of Eastern Star. Seven out of 18 were present

from the fifty year class and they were Mr. Lester Bierly, Mr. Amos Bierly, Mrs. Loretta Lambert Vermillion, of South Bend, Mrs. Beatrice Fultz Sester, of Mishawaka, Mr. Frank Nash, of North Syracuse, New York, Mrs. Helen Fouts Geyer, of Nappanee, and Mr. Boyd Sherland, of LaPorte. The twenty-five year class reported eleven present. The president of this year’s alumni was Mrs. Carol Whitmer, and she conducted the election of next year’s officers. They are as follows: Robert Northam, president; David Frame, vice-president; Jean Cole, secretary; and Linda Huhnke, treasurer. ENJOY ANNIVERSARY PARTY About 25 members and guests of the Woman’s Community Club enjoyed an anniversary party on Thursday, June 3, with a dinner in South Bend and they all then enjoyed going to a play. The play was, “1 Never Sang For My Father,” which portrayed the life of a family which was presented by the 1.U.5.8. Players Guild in the Shoestring Theatre ’76. Arrangements for the evening were made by Mrs. Victor Schmidt and Mrs. Frank Kramer. LINCOLN TWP. CLUB MEETS The Lincoln Township Homemakers Extension Club met on Tuesday, June 1 at the Walkerton Community Building with 29 members answering the roll call by exchanging plants and seeds. The anniversary song was sung to Ann Jackson who will celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary on June 19 at the American Legion Hall, Walkerton. The secretary’s report was read by Helen Decker and she also gave the treasurer’s report due to the

The committee for the day included Mrs. Ila Lute, Mrs. Charles Bellinger, Mrs. Fern Kemp and Mrs. Lois Sherland. Dorothy Walsh is the new citizenship leader and Ann Jackson is the new health and safety leader. A cancer sewing session will be held on Wednesday. GRADUATES FROM ANCILLA COLLEGE Ancilla College graduation exercises were held on Saturday, May 29 in the college auditorium. The following received their degrees. Craig Houser and Helene Lenz, both of Walkerton, received Associate of Arts degrees from Sr. Joel Lampen, president. Also honored for placement on the Dean’s List was Helene Lenz. The graduates are transferring to senior colleges in Indiana, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada. ON DEAN’S LIST The names of students who have attained the Dean's List for the second semester an Ancilla College have been announced as follows: Meriting the list with straight A average of 4.0 was Theresa Allsop, of North Liberty. An average of 3.5 was attained by Kevin Schweder; Melody Myers, 3.47; Helene Lenz, 3.2; Craig Houser, 3.16; and Sue Minter, a 3.14; all of Walkerton, along with Chris Salyer, North Liberty, with 3.0.
