PRIMARY ELECTION Politicans are getting ready for their final push before the Indiana primary election which will be held on I uesday. May 4. Both Republicans and Democrats will have important choices to make .r thev vote for the persons who will represent their party on the ( allot in the November election. Republicans will have to decide whether to cast theis ballot for President Gerald R. Ford, of Michican, or Ronald Reagan, of California. on the presidential ballot while Democrats will choose between Governor George C. Wallace, of Alabama; Governor Jimmy ( arter. so Georgia; Ellen McCormack, of New York and Senator Henry M. Jackson, of Washington. Senator Morris H. Udall, of Arizona, will not appear on the Indiana ballot. Ihe onlv Replublican on the ballot for Indiana Governor will be incumbent Otis R. Bowen, of Bremen. Democrats will have to make a choice between Larry Conrad, of Muncie; Jack L. New, of Indianapolis; and Robert J. Fair, of Princeton. For Lt. Governor. Robert D. Orr. of Indianapolis, seeks the Repulbican's nomination tor re-election and on the Democratic ballot are Marv Aikins Currie. of Indianapolis and Thomas J. Teague, of Anderson. For United States Senator R. Vance Hartke and Philip H. Hayes are on the Democrat ticket and tor the Republicans. William Costas, Richard Lugar and Edgar D. Whitcomb. For Representatives in Congress. Third District. Republican candidates are Jack A. Donis and Thomas L. Thorson. , Democrats are John Brademan. Edward J. Malo and Lawrence D. Vanderwalle. For Judge of Probate Court. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman along with Claude Houser, of Walkerton, attended the special services held at Tabor Church. Sunday. Rev. Menon Shatto, of Ontario. Canada, gave the morning message and the Shenemans attended there 42 years ago when they were first married while he was pastor there. Mr. Houser’s father helped to build the church and Mr. Houser had attended there while growing up. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Parsons entertained Monday evening for Lisa Zimmerle. who was celebrating her l 7 th birthday. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bowman. Mary Bowman. COUPLE HONORED Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Anderson, of Grovertown. were honored on their 25th Anniversary at a party given by the couple’s children. Deborah and Dawn (at home) and Mark, of Rantoul. Illinois, on Saturday. April 17, in the American Legion Home in Hamlet. Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson presented flowers to the attendents from their wedding party 25 years ago, all of which were present; Mrs. Joan Freeman (sister of Mrs. Anderson). of Union Mills; Mrs. Angeline Coffin, of Hamlet; Dean Anderson (brother of Mr. Anderson (brother of Mr. Anderson), of Walkerton; and Michael Barthel (brother of Mrs. Anderson), of LaPorte. The Glenn junior varsity squad pulled out a win by one stroke over the Argos reserves 196-197. The juniors upped their record to 2-1 with this victory. John Johnson and Brian Berkebile led the winners with rounds of 46 each. Glenn 172 - North Liberty 195 The John Glenn golf team returned to Swan Lake on Thursday, April 22 to face North Liberty and they won by a score of 172-195. Medalist for John Glenn was Scott Brovoid. Jim Landrum was North Liberty’s medalist. This raised the Falcons record to 4-3. On Thursday, the golf team will travel to Jimtown and at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, at Swan Lake, the Marshall County Golf Meet will be held with Glenn. Bremen. Argos. Culver. La Ville and Triton competing for the crown. Bremen is the defending champion, winning by a stroke over the Falcons last year. Among the top individuals will be Dave Hampton, of Argos. John Dykstra, of LaVille and Nick Berkebile. of Glenn. J OBITUHRIK CUFFORD C. KALETH Funeral services were held at 10:00 a m. Monday in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Walkerton for Clifford Kaleth. 59, of route 3. Walkerton. Mr. Kaleth died at 8:45 a.m. Friday in the LaPorte Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Walkerton. He was born on June 8, 1916, in Chicago and had lived here since

1949, coming from Chicago. On November 16. 1940. he married to Helen Kaleth. who survives. He was a machinist for Allis-Chalmers Corp., LaPorte, having worked there for 26 years. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Leo Kaleth. of Wallace. Michigan; a son. Daniel Kaleth. of Valparaiso; three grandchildren; a step-brother. Herman Kaleth. of Chicago; and a step-sister.
